By far one of the best campsites we’ve ever been to! Michele was awesome and showed us all around her farm and let us choose wherein we wanted to put up our tent. We brought our one year old who loved getting to meet all the goats and horses (and Rico the donkey...) as did we! It was beautiful, and they had a shower and bathroom available in the barn for us to use as well as a grill. We will definitely be back the next time we find ourselves in NC. 😄
My boyfriend and I stayed at Michele’s site on a late summer camping trip. Her site sounded fun and unique with the farm setting and super ideal with the option for power, water and an available bathroom with shower. Michele’s site was amazing! We had the pick of several sites but due to our late arrival (which our host made no fuss about!) we chose an easy location right by the farm, under a big shady tree. The horses, goats, dogs and other critters were a riot and really fun to have around. Michele made sure we were as comfortable as possible with a power source (we had a fan in the tent! Nearly glamping), a clean bathroom with shower essentials, and even brought us coffee and breakfast in the morning. Our only regret is we wish we could have stayed longer and maybe gone for a trail ride. Would definitely camp here again!
Michele's place was great! She and her family were wonderful hosts and gave us the run of the entire farm. Her animals are all very good with people and our two young boys had a great time with the goats, alpacas, horses and chickens. The facilities were great and Michele even provided a few things we were short on during our stay. We had farm fresh eggs and goat's milk for breakfast!
I stayed for just one night, arriving late and leaving relatively early. Michele was great at accommodating my last minute plans. The place was well kept up and it was great to see all the farm animals. And Michele was wonderful too. She made sure I had everything I needed and even gave me a dozen eggs! Thanks Michele. Wonderful place.
Terrific stay (+ horses!)
Silk Purse Farm is lovely. Our party included four children, two adults, and two dogs, and everyone enjoyed the stay. We camped in the pasture with the horses. During the day, we checked for fresh eggs, spent time with the herd of horses, and played with the goats. The farm is beautiful and very private. The amenities were as described, with a bathroom/shower in the stable. Michele even provided towels and toiletries (soap, shampoo, lotion etc.). Our hosts were gracious and accommodating. Communication was quick and incredibly helpful. I'd definitely recommend this site to a friend. And we'll definitely go back!
Rained out at fest but farm great!
We had a wonderful vacation despite being rained out at the music fest. The farm was the real vacation! It was so cool. Michele & Rock were great hosts. The animals were all so friendly and loveable!! We made great friends with Marsha the lil goat <3 The shower and restroom were great and rustic. It reminded me of my grandma's farm in Kentucky. We will be back with our grandkids this summer. Thanks yall!!!
Both, me and my gf Shelia, really loved camping here. We pulled in a popup camper and the host was very helpfull in getting everything set up. The farm is so beautiful. The animals are so friendly and healthy! Marsha the goat quickly became a new friend while we were there.
We got rained out of the music festival but the real vacation was camping on the farm. The hot shower was excellent. Michelle and Rick were so accomadating and nice to us. We will definitely be back with our grandchildren this summer. Thank yall so much!
This is every horse's lovers dream stay with about 16 horses/ponies roaming around. you can camp out in the pasture with the horses but if you're not feeling adventurous there are other camping sites on property free of the horse noggin. There is plenty of other animals on the property like sheep, goats and chickens to play with, you and the family will never be bored. This property is the perfect place to come read a book and hangout with some animals last but not least they do commanded horse back riding just make sure to give a week advance notice if you'd like to come ride some horses during your stay.
