In the heart of the Smokey Mountains, there's easy access from good roads (no 4 wheel drive necessary).

This site offers fresh spring water from a freeze-proof hydrant, an enclosed composting toilet, and an abundance of kindling and split firewood, great beauty and solitude.  The only structures on the property are a 12 x 20 cabin (tiny home) and a 70 year old refurbished tobacco barn, both typically empty (unless rented).

We are an hour from Asheville, NC, near Max Patch Bald and the Appalachian Trail (AT) and the little town of Hot Springs.

Looking for a peaceful escape in the mountains? This is THE place for it. I could've stayed for days...Don's property is a beautiful, thoughtful slice of paradise tucked away beside the hills. Campers can pitch a tent beside the flowing creek and in the shadow of his renovated barn - which also serves as a separate rental unit! When that isn't occupied, campers can request access to the barn's covered porch/lounge/kitchen area - a sweet little perch with tons of extra amenities. With the campsite, you're guaranteed access to the fire pit (with plentiful chopped wood!), compost toilet and freedom to explore the trails that wind throughout the property. Don't want to drive elsewhere for activities? Hike to the top of the mountain, pay a visit to the quirky treehouse on-site, and relax in the evening with a book on the bench beside the creek. Many thanks to Don for a warm welcome to the campsite - I can't say enough good things!

The ideal place to pitch a tent - barn to the left and a creek just feet to the right.Chopped firewood for your use.The creek runs throughout the property - follow it for a little wander..A proper "outhouse" - complete with composting toilet.

Best Rustic Campsite Ever. We had the best time at the Good Egg! There was an abundance of firewood, and the stream was beautifully refreshing! Don was extremely responsive when we had questions. I highly recommend this camp spot and property!
