Beautiful mountain campsite, very secluded and quiet. Host was very nice and helpful. Campsite was about a mile down a dirt road, would recommend an SUV or truck, but doable in an impala. Site was in a large open field and included a picnic table, fire pit, and well. The well wasn't operational for our trip but it was in the process of being repaired. With the working well, it would be a 10/10 perfect campsite. Highly recommended!

.my error i arrived in dark making it difficult to find my way. but hostess graciously stayed on phone w me entire way in to make sure i had it right. driveway was a little rough in the dark after heavy heavy rain, causing me to use 4 wheel drive . but exit out next day in daylight i realized driveway was just fine, & much shorter then it felt in dark. area beautifully mowed & peaceful. as i was just passing thru, i unfortunately didn’t have time to walk up to see mtn views. well water was a little murky, mayb due to the intense rain, so bring water if bad weather. overall a lovely spot. very helpful hosts via online & phone (my att cell reception was just fine) & would recommend it , no light pollution. so great star viewing. & especially private.

We were so impressed with the Mountain View’s Campsite! My husband and I were the only campers booked for the space and we felt like we found a well kept secret! We were able to sit in the shade of the tall trees surrounding the clearing during the day and enjoyed cool mountain air at night! We both said we would love to camp there again and would recommend the space to friends and family. We got a little confused with how to get to the campsite because the road is narrow and in a few places where the road forks we weren’t sure if we were on the road or on a personal driveway. Definitely need 4 wheel drive to make it up the road safely (especially if it were to rain!)
The host was available to call and very friendly and very accommodating to anything we needed!
We camped and hiked Grandfather Mountain and thoroughly enjoyed our time! Thank you!

Nice private spot all for ourselves. I think the views would be more visible during winter.

We had a great stay at Old Homeplace Campsite!! It was very peaceful and quiet evening, with beautiful woods surrounding 2/3 of the field we were set up in! The camp host was very easy to communicate with and even sent up the Farm Manager to check on us and give us a hose to the water source. It was a pleasant surprise to have a little rough dirt road to get the jeeps tires dirty on, but the road wasn't anything a two wheel drive could handle with normal clearance! Would definitely recommend this place for a quiet evening out on a hill side in an open field!!
