Wonderful seclusion. The driveway was challenging with 2x4 truck pulling a 20 foot travel trailer. Worth it when relaxing at camp. Very good solution for sanitation. Loved staying and look forward to seeing it in the fall, too. Owner very responsive and it's evident that he loves his land.
Group camping trip
The campsite was private and quiet. Lots of trees around to provide shade and set up a hammock. River access is just a short distance away. Additionally, Daniel responded quickly to all questions or concerns through the app.
Great mountain stay
Wow, absolutely fantastic stay!! Great, convenient location. We played all day in the river! Brought some tubes to float around, swam in the swimming hole, and had an incredible time! Very private. Definitely a steep drive up, but the gravel road is very well maintained. We saw a Prius and a Nissan Sentra go by us, so access isn’t a concern. An underrated part of the setup is the UDDT bathroom. SO much better than primitive camping and was super convenient. We will definitely be back.
Great place 👍 would recommend
Nice clean private property to set up camp with river access close by for exploring and fishing. A map of the property line, directions, and expectations were clearly stated posted. We really enjoyed the fire pit provided with stacks of fire wood to use if needed as well as a small wooded table for your convenience. We also were pleasantly surprised with the latrine provided. Sturdy and private And covered for protection from the elements, with some tp provided and also polite instructions as to how and what to do when in use.
Rain, rain go away
The site was definitely what I expected it to be. We loved that we had the whole campsite to ourselves. We enjoyed our 2 days there even with all the rain we had on Saturday. We were prepared for the rain and we went to Wilkesboro to buy bedding pellets to dry up the campsite. If you plan on making a fire, make sure it hasn't rained before your arrival. All the wood was soaked around the campsite, so we went into the town to buy wood at Tractor Supply. My wife has already asked me when we're coming back here, so that should speak for itself.
Private and peaceful!
This camp site is up a well maintained gravel road that is gated and locked. It's very private. Lots of trees for hammocks and a large open level space for tents. It has a brick lined dug out fire pit. A nicely built small picnic table. A composting tent toilet that smelled pleasantly like cedar. Lots of hiking trails. The host has an area for firewood that is covered with a tarp for firewood. Unfortunately, the wood was wet and wouldn't burn but we had already expected that with all the rain. It did rain our first day and night there but we expected this and came prepared with our pop-up shelter that we positioned right in front of our tent. The area in front of our tent quickly became very muddy but was easily fixed with a bag of compressed sawdust pellets that we sprinkled on the ground then used our blower to blow the remains away when we left.. What can I say, we're landscapers by trade and came prepared.. 🤷🏼♀️ Lol. I absolutely loved this site/place and it was one of our best camping trips. We had no cell service and saw no other people while there which was perfect! I highly recommend this if you really want privacy and want to unplug. I really didn't want to leave.
1-2 tents max, latrine woes
“50 people and 16 acres” was extremely misleading. Maybe 0.2 acres of flat land. We barely fit 4 tents. We smelled the latrine from the fire pit and our tents (esp on day 3) - needs a lid and emptied prior to arrivals. River is not walkable. 5 cars max at site. Good for 1-2 families, but any more and you’ll be putting your tents on a rock/dirt driveway. Host was responsive, site clean, just a misleading description.
