You are welcome to pitch your own tent or hang your hammock wherever you want on top of the mountain. There is also a large military tent that can sleep up to 6 or 8 if you have any issues or plan to camp under the stars and weather interferes. You have the entire mountain top to yourself, the closest residence is my own and it is in the valley so you have great privacy. Close to multiple great towns. Weaverville and Burnsville are both 10 minutes away. Asheville is about 20 minutes away and downtown Mars Hill is about five minutes. Easy, quick access to main roads if you want to go exploring in town. Mount Mitchell, Grandfather Mountain, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and many hiking trails are all within comfortable driving distance.
Expect to see wildlife, my land has Turkey and Deer. You are also free to come get some farm fresh eggs from my Chickens or purchase one of my meat Rabbits for your campfire. I can help you clean it if you haven't done it before. Or you can just pet the goats and take in the farm.
During the summer we have Blackberries to pick, and you are free to use anything in the garden. Usually have Corn, Tomatoes, Jalepenos, Peppers, Okra, and some other things also.
We bought the land two years ago, it was originally purchased and house built on it in the late 1970's by a retired steel worker. The valley hill was raised 35 feet around 2010 by the DOT to help move away materials from the project that built the new road into town.
