This site is nearest the house but has its own water view. Creek on one side and chicken coops on the other. It has its own spigot. These 2 sites could easily hold 8 or 10 families in traditional campsites. A few massive oak trees shade your tents in the heat of the day.
This is my favorite listing on our little chicken farm.

Melody was wonderful and very accommodating for my last minute booking. She was helpful and made our visit very enjoyable. I'll definitely be booking again and telling my friends
Great little spot on the water
We enjoyed our stay at Mel's. The site was perfect and the water access for kayaking was exactly what we'd hoped for. The chickens were an added bonus but don't stay here if you don't want to hear them at 5:30 am or bring earplugs! We would stay again.
Dream come true
This spot is a dream come true! Everything we could possibly hope for. I am traveling with my 10 year old son and squealed with excitement the whole time. He got to jump in the creek, play with exotic chickens, kayak and even hold chick only born the night before. Soooooo soft! Mel is an amazing source of knowledge when it come to agriculture and has lived all over the world. Super smart, funny and welcoming family. We are going back in a couple of days we loved it so much!
Will be back!
We just got back from a six night stay. I am a single mama and took kids ages 7, 9, and 14. We had an amazing time and it was a wonderful introduction to primitive camping for the kids. It was such a relaxing place to be. My younger two truly enjoyed the chickens. It was difficult to pull the kids away from swimming hole. The kids are eager to go back for another visit.
The paddle is short within the creek. Seems like you can cover the whole creek in about a half to three quarters of a mile but it does open up into the river which we did not go into.
1. Get your own camping shovel from camping section of Walmart. The one provided is heavy and dull and the $10 at Walmart is well spent.
2. Purchase a solar shower and privacy tent.
3. Bring some bug spray
4. Also if you have portable fire ring it would be good to bring.
