My husband and I spent our first anniversary out at the Lil Green Yurt and it was wonderful. It was so cute and quaint and so close to Dupont State Forest where we hiked some incredible waterfalls trails. They really went all out to stock the yurt with anything you could think of! Downton Brevard was only a 15 minute drive and they had some incredible shops and restaurants that we went to. We will definitely be coming back again! The only thing that was kind of a bummer was that the yurt was right next to the highway that runs through and so we could hear some cars driving by at night, but it was also nice to be so close to civilization if anything were to happen. Definitely a good experience!
We were absolutely blown away by our stay at the Little Green Yurt! Jaedra and Carl have clearly put thought and care into creating a space that truly welcomes their guests. Upon arrival (and finding the yurt with ease via their written directions) we found a serene getaway tucked into the trees on their property. Though not far from the road, privacy fencing across the entire "front yard" of the yurt made it feel like we were entirely out on our own. It was such a treat to find so many amenities provided - from hot water outdoor shower to cooking oils and spices. If you're looking for an idyllic mountain vacation not too far from the busier towns of western NC and the Blue Ridge Parkway, the little green yurt of Cedar Mountain should be at the very top of your list!
This yurt was so pleasant to stay in. They literally thought of everything and it was fully stocked with all the utensils and aminites that you could think of. It was a little rainy while we were there and it was such a great place to escape the storms and relax after hiking. It had a really cool outdoor shower and sink that made washing dishes and staying clean really easy. The best part is the cool skylight and bunk bed that makes star gazing so comfortable and cozy.
This place is in such a great a great location for anyone interested in, fishing, day hiking and waterfall chasing. You are literally minutes away from a ton of trail heads and the Dupont state forest. It truly is the “land of waterfalls” as there are so many to see just minutes away from this yurt. It also is really close to Brevard, NC where we were able to catch a beer at one of the breweries and go to the grocery store for grilling supplies.
I had such a great time at this little green yurt and definitely recommend staying here.
Jaedra and Carl were great hosts! The yurt was very clean. It was fully stocked with everything we needed (towels, sheets, soap, coffee, mini-fridge). They put privacy fencing up so the yurt feels very secluded even though it is near the main road. We enjoyed stargazing by the fire pit and in the loft before falling asleep. Our favorite part of the yurt was the amazing outdoor shower! Also, you can't beat the location. We were 5 minutes from the trail head at Caesar's Head and only 15 minutes from downtown Brevard. We plan to come back and stay again!
The little green yurt was perfect! The site was easily accessible and the location was convenient to many activities during the day. The site was beautifully decorated and stocked (coffee, linens, & firewood). Before leaving we were already trying to figure out when we could come back!
Prime brevard area basecamp
Fantastic "glamping" accommodations. Wonderful hosts. Prime location. This is a base camp for western NC I plan to enjoy many more times in the future. A piping hot outdoor shower on 47* evening (after a long day hiking to waterfalls in Dupont SF)... possibly highlight of the trip.
Perfect hiking weekend!
My friend and I stayed here for 2 nights and it was a fantastic time! It’s a perfect glamping experience if you don’t want the hassle of bringing tents, supplies, and gear. Everything is provided there for you! The yurt is located directly behind the owner’s house, but the fence around it made it feel private. It was also convenient if you needed something, you weren’t that far away. Cedar mountain cafe has excellent breakfast and just a minute down the road! Tons of hikes all within a 10 min drive from the yurt. We did Raven Cliff Falls, Caesar’s head overlook (go at sunset for amazing views), hooker falls, triple falls, and high falls loop. Sliding rock and looking glass falls was only 30 min from yurt... town of brevard 15 min away! We really enjoyed the outdoor shower too! The hosts had everything organized inside the yurt and very clean. It was easy to find with the provided instructions. Excellent location if you want to hike and explore during the day and relax by the campfire at night!
