Do you enjoy a quiet evening outdoors by a campfire with the faint ring of a cow bell the only sound? Have you sat and watched lightening bugs illuminate the dark since you were a kid? Do you appreciate a lush landscape that plays on all your senses? If you answered yes to these questions, you will love Harmony Glen. My single site is open and very private. The level campsite is flanked by birch and white pine and borders a stream. Nantahala National Forest and pasture land are visible from the site, which includes a fire pit with firewood available @ $5. per bundle, and wi-fi access. No houses are visible from the site. I loan campers a notebook showing all the great hikes and waterfalls and swimming and children's activities nearby with directions on how to get to them. I can interact with campers as necessary with social distancing. I am practicing all the regulations ordered by our governor. I disinfect my notebook of suggested area activities after each use. A room in my house was formerly the Argura post office, closed in 1953. I am relatively near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Panthertown Valley, Cashiers and Highlands, Western Carolina University, and Sylva, NC. I am a hiker and am familiar with many wonderful hikes in my area and whether they are moderate or strenuous. Pets on a leash are welcome. Since there is no toilet available, my site is not suitable for tent camping. I have a dump station but no direct sewage hookup. I have 30 amp power. I cannot accommodate RVs or trailers over 30'.

Peaceful, shady, and warm hearted
Our host June, was exceptionally welcoming and kind. The site was a shaded grassy glen that was perfect for our family. As a single site it afforded plenty of room and a shaded serenity hard to find in many spots. Close to Cashiers, Nantahala, Pisgah, and Gorges parks, there are many diversions. The property offers opportunities to explore and commune with nature. A much needed respite from our daily distractions. We had so much fun! Cannot wait to return to lounge under the pines!
We had an extremely quiet and peaceful stay here. The location is up a windy mountain road with picturesque views. June welcomed us as soon as we arrived and showed us where to get set up. She was extremely accommodating and even had a binder put together with suggestions of hikes and other activities in the area.
Solitude and rejuvination
What a beautiful spot to camp! If you are looking for retreat, rest and a reconnection with nature this is your spot. The drive from the local university WCU was lovely and our host was a delight. We were greeted by host June and her adorable collie Mollie. I brought my border collie Isolde and she and Mollie played the whole time. June gave us a tour of her home and her collection of art is amazing. She also provided some firewood as well as electric and water hook up. She gave us directions to two local waterfall hikes - Borchardt Falls and Wolf Creek Falls and we spent a whole day wandering around Panthertown Valley. June offers guided hikes or she’ll give you a map and suggestions. My cousin and I spent a weekend laughing and hiking and sitting around the campfire. Bliss!
Wonderful stay at harmony glen!
We loved our stay at Harmony Glen. We arrived in a downpour and June came out to meet us to help with the electric and water hookup even though it wasn’t necessary. We have two small children who loved her dog Mollie and we really enjoyed walking through the pasture with the cows. June has a great book with some really hidden gems when it comes to hiking. We did a 3-4 mile out and back just down the road with beautiful waterfalls.
The site is great and as I mention there is water and electric. We used the fire pit multiple nights as well.
June was really great to chat with and it was nice just meet someone who shared a love of the area in NC that she was so familiar with.
Hopefully we will be back soon!
Small farm with lots to explore.
This site was great! A great relatively level spot to park our camper. Available water and power. And lots of land to explore with cows, dogs and a creek. My kids loved it.
June, the host, could not have been nicer and greeted us with information and a lot of help. Campsite was quite and felt very safe.
Amazing beauty and privacy
Harmony Glen and June were great! This was our first trailer camping experience and we loved it. June's property is beautiful with lots of privacy and places to explore. She was an exceptional host, friendly, helpful and very accommodating. The site itself is gorgeous. It's in the mountains but the drive was easy and the roads were good for pulling a trailer. There's a creek that runs through the property. The sound of running water along with waking up to birds chirping and breathing in the crisp, cool mountain air were some of my favorite things about this place. The town of Sylva is about 20 miles away. This is a quaint mountain town that had everything we needed as far as groceries, coffee shops, cafes, etc.
We absolutely loved staying at Harmony Glen! The spot was so beautiful- even better than the pictures on the site. June was a generous host, and she even has a notebook of spots to visit with directions (for hiking, swimming, etc). We had plenty of privacy and enjoyed our walks in the pasture with the cows. The weather was perfect as well. We can’t wait to go back!
June's property is simply gorgeous and June is very friendly and kind. She has an informative binder with all the information you need, including local activities. The campsite is serene, and I enjoyed waking up to the birds singing each morning. There's a short hiking trail to explore, as well as a hilly pasture full of curious cows, and a beautiful stream. My dog enjoyed playing with her dog and her son's dog who was visiting. There is also easy access to potable water, electricity, and wifi.
I'm a woman traveling on my own with my dog and I felt extremely safe. June was very respectful of my need to remain socially distant during the pandemic. My only regret is that I couldn't stay longer. I highly recommend this site.
