Solitude and rejuvination
What a beautiful spot to camp! If you are looking for retreat, rest and a reconnection with nature this is your spot. The drive from the local university WCU was lovely and our host was a delight. We were greeted by host June and her adorable collie Mollie. I brought my border collie Isolde and she and Mollie played the whole time. June gave us a tour of her home and her collection of art is amazing. She also provided some firewood as well as electric and water hook up. She gave us directions to two local waterfall hikes - Borchardt Falls and Wolf Creek Falls and we spent a whole day wandering around Panthertown Valley. June offers guided hikes or she’ll give you a map and suggestions. My cousin and I spent a weekend laughing and hiking and sitting around the campfire. Bliss!
