The campsite is on flat, mowed pasture next to Little Horse Creek, directly below a hillside covered with 100 to 250 year old trees.

Ashe County is a small, remote county located in the extreme North West of North Carolina.  The climate of the entire county is vastly cooler than the rest of the state.  Here at 3500ft elevation, we are one of the coldest spots in all of Ashe County, making us one of the coldest climates in all of NC. We are less than 10 minutes from the Virginia border. Our farm exists on the last paved road before everything turns to dirt. We are in the most remote corner of Ashe County. And when we say remote, we mean "Can't see your hand in front of your face at night", limited to no cell signal, with Black Bear, Bobcat, and coyotes remote.  If you want to escape the city or suburbia, we are essentially as far out as you can go short of heading into the middle of the wilderness.

Common activities in the county include visiting our vibrant local economy comprised of small businesses in West Jefferson, swimming, fishing, tubing, kayaking, or canoeing down the New River, hiking in our local parks, visiting our busy local farmer's market, and sightseeing along the Blue Ridge Parkway and on small one-lane rural roads.
