The Love Boat
Wow, was the Love Boat a special place to stay the night! The boat sits in slip 26 at the marina located in the Shallowbag Bay Marina, off the Roanoke Sound. This boat is brand new and super clean. It feels light and airy. The walls are all white with lots of windows. It was very rainy the day we arrived with a noreaster blowing in overnight and the next morning, but we didn’t mind!
Surrounding the boat slips are 3 story condos, but by climbing up on the roof deck of the boat you can see the open water out beyond. We had dinner at Stripers Restaurant down at the end of the boat docks if you don’t feel like cooking - this is an easy spot to walk down to. There are also many restaurants along the drive out to the Love Boat.
We did not meet host, Gia, but had very thorough and easy communication with her before and during our stay.
Sleeping on the boat was a wonderful experience feeling the rock and sway of the tide. The bed was very comfortable and opening the curtains in the bedroom in the morning gives you a show of the colors of sunrise on the condo's across the marina.
We highly recommend staying here! Gia also has kayaks on the deck for use. The clubhouse has activities available during the open season such as a pool table and a hot tub.
The boat felt roomy, very comfortable, and quite honestly had everything you would need. We can't wait to come back in the middle of the summer!
