Pitch your tent on our 10-acre farm in Canton, NC.  Our campsites are on our property in a valley with mountains on both sides for wonderful views.  Peaceful, pastoral beauty, with chickens, three turkeys, a bunny, and a bubbling creek. Fireflies all summer long and morning rooster's song!   Sites are positioned up to 20 yards apart, which allows for social distancing for the five/six sites in the main camping area.  Please be responsible for yourselves and others to ensure this is carried out.

The farm has more private stay sites, but without an available fire pit. There's one communal fire ring, a relaxing hammock, and a picnic table with six chairs.  The fire ring provides warmth (and social distancing) as the cooler mountain air comes in after the sun goes behind the western mountains. We have bundles of firewood available for $5/night.  Each bundle should provide 2-3 hours' worth of burning time.  Bring your own matches or lighter for starting.

We have games, too!  Giant Jenga, Croquet, and CornHole available--just $5/day for either.  As a producing farm, in-season veggies, herbs, flowers, and eggs are available to purchase for visit or to take home. You're more than welcome to harvest your own bounty!  In keeping with good stewardship of the farm, we don't want any outside critters or plant diseases brought onto the farm. Thank you for understanding.

You can hike at nearby trails to have a canopy overhead and enjoy the beautiful vistas.  There's a swimming hole just on the other side Lake Logan going towards the Blue Ridge Parkway (a 24-mile drive one way) on NC Highway 215.   We are also 20 minutes from both Asheville (I-40E) and Waynesville (I-40W).

Kelly and her family were some of the nicest people you could hope to meet. They live in a beautiful house that they built themselves. The house sits on an expansive farm far away from any noise pollution. When I arrived I was greeted with a fresh cup of tea, and good conversation. Kelly was very welcoming, and made sure I had everything I needed for a successful/enjoyable stay.

The campsite sits at the base of the farm right next to a stream. The site has a fire pit, room for multiple tents, and a nice table with six chairs. It's a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. For a campsite, you can't ask for more. I think it's safe to say that I'll definitely be returning!

Phill, thank you so much for the review, your fabulous pictures, and for being the first to stay at the farm. The details you gave for our space have been *helpful* to a number of other guests who've since come to overnight with us. Ben and I appreciate your helping us as much as you have to get our journey started. PS: It's great to learn there's a response option on the site for us to say thanks once more to our guests:).

I had a great stay. Kelly and her family were very welcoming and helpful. Location was good, 25 min drive to asheville and many hikes are about an hour away. The tent site is by a creek, very quiet and peaceful. Hoping to come back soon!

Serene. If I had to describe our stay at Far Flung Farm in one word that's the word I'd choose. We loved our stay there, starting from the moment we turned into the driveway and were greeted by our delightful host, Kelly, her crew of free roaming happy chickens, and the sweet aroma of new mown hay. She offered us eggs if we needed them, and let us pick some fresh basil for dinner from among the many varieties in her abundant garden. The farm is located in a sweet little valley, about 20 minutes from Ashville. The view of the surrounding mountains includes Cold Mountain off in the distance. Our campsite was nestled in a corner of the property, next to a little stream whose gentle music soothed us through the quiet night. The firefly show was an added bonus. Toilet, shower, and water were available in Kelly and Ben's warm and welcoming home. Be sure to bring your own wood if you want to use the fire ring. If you're looking for something off the beaten path, but close to Ashville, the Smokies, and all that this region has to offer, this is the place for you. We'd come back to Far Flung Farm in a heartbeat.

Amy, thanks for the detailed and kind review. We're glad you both joined us and were glad to meet you. The chickens still roam freely, but we have added firewood as an *extra*. Figured it was about time. And thank you for the pictures you shared as well. The pictures from our guests have been the very best! We trust the trip back to Ohio was safe and uneventful. Kelly PS: It was great to be able to say thanks. I'm just learning that was an option:)

This was the second time that my boyfriend and I stayed at Far Flung Farm, and we would definitely go back for a 3rd, 4th, and 5th time. Kelly is such a kind human and made us feel so welcome - she even sent us off with some croissants on our last morning! The property is gorgeous and is surrounded by mountains and a a small creek. The house was built by the family and is so bright and colorful! Kelly and her family have two beautiful dogs, Luna and Preacher, who are so sweet, as well as chickens, and flocks of hummingbirds! Overall, the atmosphere here is enchanting. I would absolutely reccomend this site!

Thank you, Mary! Ben and I appreciated that you both stayed with us both times:). We appreciate your review as the details help paint the picture so well, especially for those new to this. Luna, Preacher, and the *girls* say hi as well. Kelly PS: Glad to learn of this feature to thank our guests who've stayed. We hope you're both doing well.

Thank you, Jocelyn, for letting us know about your stay. It's our first time reading that stream sang. Hopefully, it was an easy-to-sleep-to song. Kelly PS: just seeing I could respond to your review. Hope that you are well.

Kelly and Ben were fabulous hosts!! Their home and property is absolutely beautiful! We set up camp in the corner of their property with a beautiful, babbling creek behind us. Each morning we awoke to the sounds of the creek, the rooster crowing in the distance, birds chirping, and beautiful foggy mountains. Kelly and Ben have beautiful flower gardens and lots of cute things to add character to their lovely home. It's private, but close enough to their home if you need to use facilities. They were very accommodating and helpful during our stay. Their home is about 20 mins from Asheville and 20 mins from a cute little town called Waynesville. We had a blast!! We hope to have the opportunity to go back sometime!! Thanks so much Kelly and Ben!!!

It's always interesting and humbling to see the farm through others' eyes. I wish the *girls* could see themselves:) Kelly PS: I was happy to learn that I could respond here. Just catching onto that recently.

Kelly and Ben’s Far Flung Farm is a wonderful place to stay! I was greeted by the whole family upon my arrival, including their two pups, Luna and Preacher! Kelly had some business out of town and had to leave for the duration of my stay, but I was left in Ben’s capable hands! He checked in every once in a while just to see how everything was, but not so often as to disturb me. He even recommended some places for me to go mountain biking (which is why I took the whole trip in the first place)!

The peaceful campsite sits at the back of their beautiful property, nestled in a stunning valley, right next to a small creek which provides some of the best white noise to help you fall asleep.

Overall, I highly recommend staying at Kelly and Ben’s Far Flung Farm! You won’t regret it!

Julius, thank you so much for the detailed review and for expressing what you found positive. We're happy that you joined us that week and to learn the expectations for your trip were met. Ben says he as a little jealous of your trail rides;). Preacher and Luna say thanks for giving them a shout out, too! Kelly
