Definitely planning a return trip!
This was our first hipcamp experience and our second camper trip! It was my husband, 2 toddlers, and I. The hosts Roy and Sandra were so incredibly sweet. They helped us get everything setup and made sure we were comfortable. They were very welcoming and respectful and provided great conversation but were not in any way intrusive. They gave us some great extras that were just the icing on the cake. Roy helped us set up our campfire and we had hot dogs and s’mores. It was fantastic. Loving so close to a major big city, it was nice to venture out and actually be able to see a ton of stars! The site was just as they described. It was private without being so incredibly private. You could see the other campers but we’re far enough away you couldn’t hear them! The creek was fun to visit and we went down one trail. They had beagles and goats and they were so incredibly friendly. Roy and Sandra gave us some crackers to let the kids feed the goats. We had a blast! The site was easy to get to. I would definitely recommend! We want to return sometime soon!
The camper area was very nice. Sandra and Roy even made special accommodations for the other parties so everyone was super private. Just a very easy place to stay. Took a day in Elkin to explore the breweries, love skulcamp, a day hiking around stone mtn(highly recommend), and a day in wilkesboro, loved copper barrel.
Beautiful location, great amenities
Eden Oaks Vineyard was a fantastic place to stay! My husband and I traveled here with our 29ft fifth-wheel trailer and the available site was perfect for us. We were able to park in a lovely little level clearing complete with water and 50-amp electrical hookups (this was a huge and welcome surprise to us, as we've previously seen "electrical hookups" on other Hipcamp listings only to arrive and find that "electrical hookups" means "an extension cord running through the yard from a gas generator").
The vineyard itself sits on 22 acres of land, so there's plenty to explore for those interested in hiking or picnicking. There are nice walking paths, several historic structures on the property, and a quiet creek running through the site. Overall, a great place to enjoy nature in the heart of Carolina country. My husband and I ended up extending our stay by an additional week not long after we arrived and would absolutely stay here again!
Such a beautiful piece of property, we got a proper tour, including the old tobacco barn and we’re allowed to wander around the property after we got set up. Samurai loved playing in the creek, and walking around with me.
They even brought us some firewood for our fire later. I had a great time.
