Let's just start with this - Dawn's farm was an absolute dream location to camp at! The tent site is tucked away on her property, up a winding hill and through the trees into a perfect little clearing. Your "perch" (it's up on its own hill!) looks out over the mountains, has a bench (great for setting up dinner if you forgot your camping table), and feels a million miles away from it all. Come prepared with water and basic necessities, as it is truly just the land up there - but that's proper camping! Before arriving, Dawn even sent a video message on directions to get there...such a welcome surprise. If you want to have a relaxing getaway in the woods, though just ~30 minutes from downtown Asheville, this is the place!

Set up camp and Dawn came to welcome us and said to call her if we needed anything. My small truck was able to drive to the campsite, anything bigger would be a challenge on the narrow paths around the hills. The view from the grassy knoll was great. In the morning woke to a couple turkeys that were strutting beside the tent. The stay was cut short due to the weather but we would enjoy returning.

Thank you for visiting Jeff, your response is wonderful and I appreciate it. The house, isn’t a house across the valley. It’s a guest home for my full property. It is used only by family during the holidays. So for now no worries about reclusiveness… Come back soon!
