Camp Sonny
In the middle of a neighborhood
I wouldn’t call it a camp site but pro is that its very close to popular hikes in the area, like triple falls. It backs up to a trailer park and there was loud music late into the night. It’s also located next to a busy street so you won’t experience the sounds of nature. I wouldn’t say it’s kid friendly for these reasons. If I was going with just adults and we wanted to home triple falls the next day I would stay here again.

Labor Day Stay
Camp Sonny is a great central location if you want access to downtown Brevard and DuPont Forest.
We did not expect it to be next to a trailer park so we were up most of the nights with noise/animals from that. Additionally, there was shattered glass all over the campsite from the guest before us so I would not recommend bringing a pet or walking barefoot. That being said, we were looking for the basics to camp (fire pit, table, woods) and that’s what we got.
Courtney had fantastic communication and was always available.
Camp Sonny
Pros: Site is very convenient to Pisgah National Forest. Cons: site is only about 1/2 acre of overgrown lawn next to an abandoned, crumbling house in residential area. So while it's a great place to pitch a tent for the night, I wouldn't want to do anything other than sleep there. Note that you need to pull well into the driveway before you see the sign for Camp Sonny.

Camp Sonny
It was a wonderful, private camping site! Although it’s beside a neighborhood there’s not that much noise that you can notice. A few cars sporadically. The picnic table and fire pit are very useful.

Camp Sonny
Private, great location
Camp Sonny met all of our needs. We wanted a base camp for two nights to explore the Pisgah National Forest. Camp Sonny provided us a private spot to set up our tent and allow our dogs without worry. We had the whole property to ourselves. The space includes a firepit, picnic bench, toilet chair, trash can, and a small grill. The site has a gentle slope throughout which made tent selection a small consideration. The camp host, Courtney, was very easy to work with, friendly, and communicative. The only downside is the site is adjacent to a street that started getting noisy with frequent cars around 6am.
Location-wise, the property is < 5 minutes drive to the National Forest entrance. It is also 6 minute drive to Oskar Blues Brewery, 10 minutes to downtown Brevard, and Walmart & gas stations are right around the corner.
And a reminder to all Hipcampers.. please clean-up after yourselves OR rather better; please leave the site cleaner than when you arrived. Have fun out there!

Perfect pit stop
Courtney was very helpful and responded to every question immediately. Loved that!!! They had wood on the premises she offered. Idk if it’s for more than a night- yet... looks like it’s in the works This is secluded yard and you are by the road (not too busy) but it’s perfect for a night to crash. Has a fire pit and table. No bathrooms- pet friendly
