Tent Camping in the Pines
Not a place for a restful trip away
The pictures tell a very misleading story- this is a small camping space in someone's backyard. There are 2-3 permanent campers and tents set up... unclear if anyone is living in them. No privacy to speak of, and there were several other groups also camping in the small space when we arrived. This is much more a "hostel party" vibe than "private and peaceful"

Lee was a great host! The campsite was secluded and came with onsite shower, toilet, and power outlets at every site. Not to mention how beautiful the surroundings were. We had a wonderful time. Would definitely recommend.

Tent Camping in the Pines
the whole place looked like an abandoned homeless tent around. the bar/check in was totally hoarded with things and dusts and the camp keeper was no where to be found, the the neighbor person was very rude and slammed the door
Tent Camping in the Pines
It was an adventure
We were hoping for a more private area as the advertisement lead you to expect. The pines did provide some privacy and all the other campers around us were quiet and respectful. We were only 20 minutes from downtown Asheville and even closer to the Blue Ridge Parkway and hiking! The host, Lee, was very friendly and chill! Overall we enjoyed our weekend!

Tent Camping in the Pines
Perfect for the hippie at heart!
We had a wonderful time! Lee, was very accommodating and super friendly.
We were not expecting to see so many permanent campers. It was a bit cluttered, but they were all very nice and helpful.
The site wasn't as private as we thought it would be, but it was beautiful, quiet and very close to Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway.
I would recommend this site for the open minded campers and recommend 4 wheel drive vehicles.
My only criticism would be that I would have liked to see the outhouse and shower de-spidered with regularity. We are fascinated by entomology, so I'm not afraid of spiders, however... the thought of a black widow when you're vulnerable is a little unnerving. Next time, I will bring a broom.
We would definitely return! There are so many breweries and great food spots nearby. The Biltmore is very close. Even a creamery just down the road! You will not be bored.

The host was awesome and we all had a blast. Thereâs a house on the property with a pool table and a bunch of cool memorabilia. Other campers were super friendly as well and made for a great experience. First time in Asheville and will definitely be back.
