General property information-
Engadine Inn and Cabins, Asheville's country retreat, is located a short, 15-minute drive from the City's urban center. Situated on 12-acres, we offer luxury accommodations and amenities in 6 fully furnished private mountain cabins and in the historic B&B Inn. Unique to Engadine are its spectacular views of the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains. Engadine is convenient to the area's restaurants, attractions, music venues, microbreweries, arts and cultural facilities, recreation and shopping.
The Balsam Mountains Cabin at Engadine is a cozy retreat for a weekend getaway, a week-long vacation* or an extended stay*! This private cabin, reminiscent of a tiny house (only just a bit larger!) offers all of the comforts of home with the luxury amenities found in a hotel or inn.
Guests park directly outside of the cabin and enter from the expansive deck, which is outfitted with small table with umbrella and chairs... a great place from which to take in sunrise with a cup of coffee or to enjoy sunset with a glass of wine.
The living space is decorated in a "cabin chic" style and outfitted with comfortable furnishings, including a sofa/futon (linens provided) in the living room to accommodate guest #5. Additionally, guests will enjoy a flat screen TV with basic cable, free secured WiFi, and a gas fireplace (operated seasonally from October 15 through March 15).
The kitchen is outfitted with a full complement of appliances... refrigerator/freezer, stove/oven, microwave, drip coffee maker and toaster oven... as well as cooking utensils and service ware (flatware, glassware, plates, etc.) for preparing and serving meals. Cabinets and a pantry are also available for organizing and storing your provisions out of sight. A charcoal grill is also available outside on the deck.
The private bathroom offers (in addition to the toilet!) a tub with shower, a vanity area with plenty of cabinet space and a hairdryer. Bath towels (Turkish Towel Company) are provided, including black towels for make-up removal, as is a full complement of luxury bath products (Essential Elements "Bathe" soaps, shampoo, conditioner, etc.).
The bedroom offers a cozy king-sized bed for guests #1 and #2. Guests will also find plenty of storage for clothes and luggage in a large wardrobe closet.
Upstairs is the sleeping loft which is open (with protective railings) to the living room below where a queen-sized mattress (linens provided) to accommodate guests #3 and #4.
For stays of more than 3 days, we offer a complimentary change out of bath towels upon request. For extended stays, weekly housekeeping is complimentary and includes a complete change of bed and bath linens. If you would prefer daily housekeeping, upon request there will be an additional charge of $25 per day. * Discounts are available for stays of 7 days or longer. Contact us for more information.
While cabin guests at Engadine will enjoy a more private lodging experience, they are welcome to enjoy the property's common areas and other experiences... The Grounds- Cabin guests should feel free to explore Engadine's grounds and gardens. The Fire Pits- Wood burning fire pits are available for guests to enjoy at both of Engadine's meadows/event venues (wood is available for purchase at $6 per bundle). Breakfast In The Inn- Cabin guests are welcome to enjoy the two-course gourmet breakfast served daily to guests of the Inn at 9:00 am ($18 per person per day, based on availability). NOTE: As our Inn is adults only, families are most often accommodated for breakfast at our "chef's table". Some folks tell us that it's the best seat in the house! The Creek- While there are no formal trails, guests often walk down to Hominy Creek (though we do suggest caution when/if doing so).
Your hosts, Tom Watson and Rick Bell, live on property and are available assist with your needs. Our office hours are from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm daily. Please call or visit us during these hours.-
We offer our guests a refreshing lodging alternative in a country setting... only 15-minutes from the urban center of Asheville! That said, please be assured that we can offer a stellar lodging experience chocked full of the MANY amenities Asheville and Western North Carolina offer, all within a 20-minute radius. Trust us on this... you're gonna love it!
If local driving is not your thing, we suggest Lyft, Uber or a traditional taxi service (especially if you choose to enjoy Asheville's beer or wine scenes). In most cases, it will be easiest if you walk down to the Inn to meet your driver.
Stocking your cabin with provisions-
If you are planning to wait until you arrive in the area to stock your cabin with provisions, there are convenient shopping options... grocery stores at Exit 31 (west of Engadine on I-40) or at Exit 44 (east of Engadine on I-40). For last minute sundries, there is an Exxon convenience store and a Dollar General at Exit 37 (one-half mile from Engadine).
Planning group events or weddings-
Engadine Inn and Cabins is available to host group events or weddings. Our total lodging capacity is 30-35 overnight guests, depending on the bedding configuration. Our indoor event capacity is 30 guests (using the Inn's public spaces). Our outdoor event capacity is 150 guests (using the Vineyard Overlook or Honey Hill event venues). Adding amenities or services to your stay-
We offer a broad complement of amenity items or services that can be added to your stay for an additional cost. These include such cabin amenities as flowers, home made candies, wine, champagne, etc. or services such as in-cabin massage services or special golfing privileges/prices at the golf course at Asheville's famed Omni Grove Park Inn. A note about North Carolina sales (7%) and Buncombe County occupancy (6%) taxes-
By law, we are required to collect and pay the taxes associated with your cabin for your stay. As there is no option to collect this tax at Hipcamp, we will do so during your check-in. As you will have fully paid for your cabin stay at Hipcamp, only this balance will be due.
