At Animal Ed.ventures Sanctuary you can pitch a tent or bring a cot and sleep in the zip-able Gazebo on your site. Our space is humble in size but huge in heart - a sanctuary for the human spirit - and when you're here, you're family. A picnic table and a fire-safe pit round out "your space" of Peace and quiet.

Overnight guests have daytime access to the sanctuary and all of the beautiful creatures that have come from throw-away-to-thrive in our care. Meet Teddy the Capuchin, Betsy the Sloth, and all of their friends and family.

We are happy to share the stories of how they came to be here as well as the challenges (and ensuing moral and ethical questions that captivity raises) of creating the safe-haven they now call home.

Our setting, amongst the Trees and Earth’s natural features, is left as unaltered as possible in an effort to help combat a rapidly spreading disease known as Nature Deficit Disorder (NDD) a condition which is widely and detrimentally affecting our ability to relax, breathe deeply, and find serenity and peace in today’s hyper-everything world.

We welcome everyone interested in joining forces across the earth who wish to tap into the inner peace, love, and acceptance we need be able to create a kinder gentler existence for all living things!

We do prefer 24hr advance notice for bookings, but if you are traveling & in a pinch for same-day accommodations, just give us a call!

(LENGTHY REVIEW, summary: amazing and versatile campsite, healing experience, amazing hostess, close to so many attractions!)
My visit to Animal Ed.Ventures far outlived my expectation. Cory is an incredible person and you can feel her warmth right away! We came on the off season and I didn't give her much time to prepare but she was on it! Cory offered a number of different set ups to make sure we were comfortable, private enough and involved as much as we wanted to be. Just being in around her and her animals makes it hard NOT to relax. Pack a cooler, unplug for the weekend, visit animals who have been given a second and third chance, visit Raleigh in just over 40 minutes, State and local parks, absolutely beautiful scenery. This was my first time using Hipcamp and i am beside myself with how well it went. Thank you Cory!!!

Oh Georjean! - Your kind words mean the world to us and all the animals here at the sanctuary!! We are so glad you enjoyed yourself, and your own willingness and kindness has made us all so excited to meet more hipcampers looking for a unique experience and a place to unplug! One day we WILL work our way to cabins in the woods and a Peace-Park for all! #worlds1stpeacepark shines for you!!

If you are looking for an unforgettable, inspiring and authentic camping experience, look no further. My 10 year old daughter and I had a wonderful weekend camping at Animal Ed.ventures Sanctuary and Peace Park. We were able to disconnect from technology, the hustle and bustle and connect with Mother Nature and each other. Being amongst the trees and surrounded by Earth’s natural features allowed us to relax and find serenity. For those looking for good hiking trails, Raven Rock State Park is less than 30 minutes away.

Cory and the staff were very kind, inviting and knowledgeable about all creatures that have found refuge at the sanctuary. They took time to educate us on many of the animals and insects that have been given a second chance to thrive. Cory is an wonderful woman with a warm spirit doing amazing work with animals and people. Our world is a little brighter because of Cory. The warm energy and seeing kindness in action left us reenergized and inspired. We look forward to our next visit! Thank you Cory!

We visited Animal Edventures and camped there for two nights to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. We had an amazing stay! Cory is a superb host and made us feel at home right from the get go. They had a large group coming in for the first night but they were so kind to not only accommodate my family but also created a nice little camping spot for us. We are so impressed with Animal Edventures and the work Cory and her team does there. We are definitely going back!

Had an awesome time with the family. Animals are beautiful and fun. Very informative and able to be seen unlike most zoos. They also have rustic camping. Well worth it. Will definitely be going again. 5 stars for me.

Animal Edventures was an amazing camping experience. Cory was super helpful and communicative getting me in when it was dark. My dog was welcomed. And the animals. Oh the animals. An emu followed me on my walk through the sanctuary and it was wonderful. All the creatures wandering were amazing. Go visit!

I enjoyed the space behind the sanctuary for tent campers, which was thoughtfully laid out and maintained despite also seeming to be in the wilderness. I made ample use of the large fire pit, comfy chairs and tables. Visiting with the animals was another big plus. It was so nice I extended my stay. Perhaps it's not for everyone, I'll admit it was necessary to learn how to relate to an emu before i could unload my car, and I am glad to find all the nighttime animal noises charming and not bothersome. Weather in late January took some planning and gear to deal with even without any strong wind or rain. Altogether a relaxed, unique experience.

As a person who wanted eomething off the beaten path, I was happy with the accomodations Cory made for me. Cory is a wonderful, warm, loving and caring person and I cannot say enough great things about her. She is the quintessential geniune article peoplr. If you find yourself in her company, consider yourself fortunate and blessed.
Please, please give a donation, if you can, to help her with this monumental endeavor she has taken on. It is worthy and it is a far greater thing she does than we can even imagine.
