Great way to be secluded!
We went during the COVID-19 season where social distancing was important but needed somewhere for my two small boys to get outside. This place was perfect. It wasn't harvest season so Andrey let us camp back in the vineyard and we felt like there was no one around for hundreds of yards. Very safe and beautiful land. Roads are a bit rough as I think mostly used by a tractor but our simple Honda AWD handled it fine with high clearance trailer.
We had a great time visiting the Russian Chapel Hills winery and made in there in time for some wine tasting and enjoying a nice bottle of Chardonnay under the large oak trees overlooking the winery at sunset. Andrey and his staff were gracious hosts and it was a beautiful setting. Our only concern was the area designated for camping was next to the entrance and close to the road and we noticed a few cars driving by at night slowly to check us out. Since we have a small teardrop trailer Andrey offered other areas to camp further off the road and next time we would probably do that. A wonderful trip and unique setting for a overnight camping spot.
Beautiful views, great wine!
Our trip was fantastic! After hiking nearby Chimney Rock, we set up camp right in the vineyard near the historical chapel! Our view was beautiful, and we were the only ones on the grounds all night which made for a truly unique camping experience. I would highly recommend staying here!
Unbelievable property. Andrey was super gracious and gave us the run of his gorgeous vineyard. We had a tasting too and the wines are superb. This one is worth going out of your way for. We’ll be back.
Beautiful, safe, and unique!
Great! We had the place to ourselves (I think) and chose to camp in the back vineyard area against the tree line. So private and so beautiful. We encountered very few people but everyone was very kind. Highly recommend, the vines are awesome.
Beautiful property, so neat to camp on a vinyard! This spot had it all, great view of the vinyard, wine tasting on the porch, a beautiful russian chapel just a short walk away, lovely mature trees on the property, beautiful sunset view, and fireflies lighting up the big trees. Andrey and staff were very welcoming and friendly. Make sure to try the chardonnay it is amazing!!
Disappointed, rvers beware.
I was disappointed with this camping site. Directions were wrong, had to call to know where to go and had a difficult time getting my small 19’ RV into the location. Too many low hanging branches and hope I didn’t rip my roof. I met the owner and complained to him about the address being wrong but he didn’t seem to care. He said I could pull my RV around the house and find a spot but did not answer my request for a shady spot away from the house. The site I set up on was tight and not well kept, there where large bins and tall grass. Around the site. It was not a private site but no one bothered me. I think this place has potential if the owner would establish suitable camp sites around the property and trim branches for RVs to safely navigate and for $40 a night one should expect much better than what is being offered. I do not plan to visit again based on my experience.
