Magical misty dewy adventures on 25 acres of land in the smoky mountains. Both tents and RVS are welcome. Laid back community land of creative spiritual people- non judgemental and welcoming of all kinds as long as there is mutual respect and an agreement to leave the land in as good shape as it was when you came. We are kid friendly here and outdoor spots to play, picnic, hike and relax. We are in close proximity to mount Mitchell and asheville. Tons and tons of berries for picking in the summer months. There's a Cozy outdoor living room and trampoline! We have several fire pits including a cute garden spot with benches to sit on and roast marshmallows under the stars. You can make this as homey or as rustic as you want, we've got plenty of space. Outhouses are available. We have had some heavy rains out here this summer and our road has gotten a little washed out on the way up. People used to living in the Wnc/smoky mountain area usually say it's nothing new to them but it's a bit rough on cars with no 4x4. A few City folks have been freaked out by it and other campers and air B.B.-ers have not mentioned it at all. That’s the bad news!Otherwise we have composting facilities, an active garden and many swimming holes to explore nearby. When it’s not cloudy it looks like a dome of stars close enough to touch covers our valley. We welcome accountable and honest people to come out here and use our facilities :)

Alana and Peter are the super sweet hosts at Creekside Meadow @AncientFuture. They are very friendly and hospitable and have two kids, an awesome dog, and chickens that are always running around and playing on the property. One thing that Alana seemed very knowledgeable of was all of the edible and medicinal plants and herbs that grow in and around their several gardens.

The property itself is quite large and very beautiful. The main camp area is adjacent to a small creek and has a garden, fire pit, pool, and two picnic tables. There are a couple nice flat spots that you can pitch a tent in, and there is also a neat 3-D hexagon shaped platform structure that they will let you set up camp in. I am not sure if the shape of the structure would allow for a very large tent, but it might be worth a try to get off of the wet morning grass.

Alana and Peter's land is nestled in a valley and expands for 26 acres up the mountainside. There is a road that goes further up the valley which leads to some overgrown trails that lead to the top of the mountain. Furthermore, they are located only 30-35 minutes away from downtown Asheville so this makes for a fun and convenient location that is close in proximity to both great restaurants and breweries and some awesome hikes.

If the Asheville area is on your list of future destinations and you are willing to car/tent camp, Creekside Meadow is the place to be.

When you get to the property, it is beautiful, but 4 wheel drive vehicle or mad off road skills on the gnarliest road imaginable are needed to get up there. The field we camped in was maintained and there was an abundance of pollinators and goldfinches. The toilet had some issues the second day. This, combined with the road giving me anxiety, caused us to cut our stay one day short. I should note that I have spent a considerable amount of time driving on roads in the Navajo Nation and rural VA, so it is not that I am a stranger to poorly maintained roads, this road is among the worst I have seen.
