About Mountain Top Campsite
Pitch your tent in the middle of our 450 acre farm, in our peach and apple orchard. You have access to a fire pit, applewood (sold in farm market), and picnic tables. A beautiful, secluded site to bring friends to enjoy this beautiful location. As we are a working farm, you can see us driving through with our tractors maintaining the orchard. Please be aware that during the months of September and October there may be Pick-Your-Own customers walking around picking apples around the campsite area.
You are welcome to ride your bikes, hike or jog where you will pass ponds and a working farm landscape. We have a farm store open year round on the premises where we sell cheeses, fresh picked fruit and veggies, meats, and our famous cider donuts along with other farm products.
Minnewaska State Park and Mohonk Reserve are only 10 minutes away. The rail trail is three minutes away. This gives you walking and biking access in to New Paltz, where there is tons of restaurants and lots of shopping.

Wright's Farm is a delight to visit. The scenary of the Shawagunk Ridge is spectacular. The farm has an abundance of trees both peach and apple, as well as a variety of other fruit patches. Camping at the stone patio was a fantastic experience. Waking up,having a cup of joe, looking out at all the trees &mountains, along with the perfect view of the sunrise can't be beat.
The Wright family themselves are a joy to get to know. During our time at the farm we were able to spend a good amount of time with Collin Wright who runs the farm with his family and their dog Paco. The family has owned the land for a century and the stories of the 500 acres are endless. Learning about the old cows and chickens, air plane landing strip, and brewery dreams are just a few of the stories we can recount.
Despite our visit being during the off season of the orchard, we found the land to be a delight. Exploring the orchard and weaving in and out of trees was a pleasure. It's especially cool to watch sky divers jump and open their parachutes in the distance. This is a perfect weekend get away to have a beer, walk amazing views, and simply relax in private.
Finally the thing that makes wright farm truly special is the farm store. There you will find delicious house made treats, flowers, and lovely apple fire wood. My partners and I departed the farm with their famous donuts (crazy addicting), house made chili sauce, apples (of course!), apple butter, blackberry +peach jam, and flowers.
Do visit Wright Farm. You won't regret it!!!
What a treat to camp with friends with no other people around! At Wright Farm, we had an enormous field cleared for our group of three families. The field was bordered by orchard on all sides. We could see the Gunks in the distance. Our kids could run and scream unfettered. It was well worth the expense over public camping.
This campsite had a really beautiful view of the Gunks! Surrounded by fruit orchards, it was a very peaceful retreat. We loved watching the skydivers open their shoots right over our heads as they made their way to the near by air field.
We enjoyed the secluded site at with a lovely view among the peach and apple trees. It's the perfect spot for a big group, but we enjoyed being there just the two of us with our dogs. We hike-walked around the farm (gorgeous!), but there were no hiking trails if that's something you're looking for. Everyone we encountered was friendly and welcoming. It's nice to be able to gather a few things (including firewood) from the base area farm store upon arrival. Thanks for a fun stay!
We had an awsome time during our camp. Wrights family are very welcoming and it was a great experience for us and our 2 year old dog. We had a whole field surrounded by beautiful orchards, with planes flying in the sky having sky divers. Beautiful farm to hike around and smell freah apples with a couple of ponds which our labrador loved. Nice private camping in a beautiful field with a lot of delicious treats to buy on your way back at the store.Wrights farm, thank you for a great time!
Pros: Beautiful view of the Shawangunk ridge; great view watching skydivers; came during fall so views of fall colors; atop one of the higher places in the orchard; peaceful isolation as we only saw two people pass by the entire time we were there; picnic tables; fire pits (you can buy wood at market); lots of delicious food choices at the market if you didn't pack your own, we got very delicious frozen soups that we were able to heat up in the camp stove we brought, ridiculously good apple crumble pie, crackers, cheese, etc.
Cons: No "typical" campground amenities (bathroom with showers/sink) if that's a must. There's water (uncertain if suitable for drinking) about a five minute walk away, right next to market.
Overall: Highly recommend for a unique experience camping in a operating orchard / farm.
