Wonderful and private site!
The site was fantastic! The host was great and was very clear with their communication prior. Everything was better than expected. There were great spots to camp and they were very private. Well cared for area with beautiful views!
Just what I needed and I will be going back!
a quiet & beautiful location that turned out to be the highlight of our summer. the area we chose to camp was right on the pond, with a beautiful dock and use of the kayaks & canoes. the bathrooms unfortunately are not working, however, the portable toilets were located close and well kept. if the bathrooms were working i think this may have been the most perfect spot! we did get to speak to the owner, and he was very responsive to any questions and gave us a history of the location. I would recommend that there be clearer descriptions on the hip camp page, for example - there are a lot of what appeared to be camping sites on the grounds, however no clear definition of "sites" once you are on the property. The map on the hip camp page is all trees, no sense of the road or how the property is laid out. This is not to say the campground isn't easy to navigate, but upon arrival i wasn't sure where i was allowed to camp or not to camp.
Peaceful and enjoyable
Great place! Host was super friendly and accommodating. No idea how many people were actually camping here as the sites are so spread out and private. Bathrooms are under repair, but the port-a-potties were super clean with water and soap. Great hiking and beach for swimming.
Would definitely recommend!
We absolutely loved our stay at Wood Spring! We were able to spread out (10 campers, 5 tents) yet still felt like we had complete privacy. The beauty of Wood Spring is that you're not dedicated to one small area like you typically are at large public/state-run camp grounds! My only warning is to keep in mind that there is only one way in/out of the campground and it is through a creek. It downpoured our first night and upon checking out the creek the next morning, it was clear that if anyone wanted to leave with a small vehicle (we had small Mazda with us), that it would be impassable. Luckily by the next day, the water level had resided, but we were definitely nervous for a bit and had to come up with plan B options just in case. Other than that - the stay was exactly what we had hoped for!
Great camping place!
The camping site was perfect. Quiet with just the flowing water sound as the background. We absolutely loved it. And the host was very accomodating even with our late arrival and other nuances.. Will definitely book it again whenever we are there. :) :)
Our stay at Wood Spring Club was better than we could have anticipated! The site we ended up in was spacious yet secluded and had plenty of shade to keep us cool while also having enough space to play games and have everything set up. All of our questions were answered promptly and everyone we met during our stay was so friendly. We were lucky enough to be staying during their annual Music in the Woods Festival and got to enjoy a full day of live music in between dips in the pond. We are already planning a trip back for next summer!
