WILD CHERRY CREEK:

Relax and explore on our 235 acre former dairy farm deep in the heart of the Finger Lakes region.

This diverse land on a quiet, seasonal road has a lot to offer. Hike the hills, fields, and forests of pine, maple, and wild black cherry trees. Stroll in the gulley along the babbling Flint Creek. Find the abandoned one room schoolhouse where my grandfather studied almost 100 years ago. Pay your respects at the Civil War era cemetery. Walk to our highest spot with a beautiful view of five glacier carved hills on a clear day.

Being about 9 miles from both Branchport, NY on Keuka Lake and Naples, NY on Canandaigua Lake will put you within a short drive to over a dozen wineries, breweries, and distilleries as well as beaches, shopping, and dining. Hi Tor Wildlife Preserve with opportunities to hike, fish, and hunt is right over the hill. Beautiful Clark Gulley is on the hill after that. A branch of the Finger Lakes Trail which is over 1,000 miles in total passes through Italy Valley a little over a mile away.

We are just getting started and are in the process of adding more hiking trails, campfire rings, and other amenities to help you enjoy sharing our favorite land. Hope to see you soon!

Wild Cherry Creek is a beautiful property we set up camp down in the gully next to the creek. A short walk down to where the creek splits and weaves through the woods, the trail will take you further down to where the creek meets back together. Quiet and secluded, 2 adults, my teenage daughter and dog had a blast playing in the creek and hiking although we only saw a tiny bit of the property, the cemetery was pretty neat and we did other area activities. 230 acres is a lot! The farm land was a perfect place for a little R&R. The property is located nearly 20 min to anything you need or want. Ken was welcoming, helpful and excited to share the property.

Stayed at the Cherry Sky Camp, on a hilltop, at the edge of a wooded area with beautiful views and peaceful and simple camping. Host Ken was very welcoming and friendly. Cell signal was a pleasant surprise as I used it to check in with home. I enjoyed stopping by the one room schoolhouse and traveling on the rural roads. Very pretty, picturesque surroundings and the simple tent camping experience I was looking for. Great!

On the edge of the wooded area, overlooking a farm cultivated field, rural road (just below, out of view) and nearby farm buildings and houses.Wooded area behind the tent.

If I could give Wild Cherry 6 stars, I would. Love the sites, I stayed up on the hill and the views were ah-mazing!! My dogs were in heaven and the trip was so peaceful for me. We hiked the gully and took a day trip to Urbana State Forest which was about 15 mins away. The property itself is gorgeous and well maintained and they were putting a lot work into it while I was there so I imagine its only going to get better. Ken and Mel were excellent hosts. I had forgotten my rainfly and they offered to let me borrow a canopy and even drove out and set it up. I will absolutely be coming back to relax and unwind at Wild Cherry. Thank you so much!!

This was a great spot to relax. We towed our Aliner up to the hilltop site. The listing says no longer than 20 feet for a camper. It's correct, as of May 2020. There isn't much space to turn the camper around. If your vehicle isn't all wheel drive with decent tires, be very careful driving up the steep unpaved driveway with a camper in tow. A regular car without a camper would have no issues. There is a nice firepit and lots of downed wood to make a fire with.

The views are awesome. And the sunsets during our stay were wonderful. Seeing across the valley was interesting throughout the day. A great spot to sip a beverage of choice while unwinding. We explored all over, and had a great time. Ken and his dad were very friendly. Recommended!

Sunset our first nightOur setup: Aliner Ranger 12, RAV4 AWD, and popup canopy. It was quite windy, so being out of it was nice. The equipment we used. The daytime view from the site. Should be very pretty summer and fall.

Our small group had a lovely stay at Wild Cherry Creek. Ken was easy to communicate with—he gave clear directions and responded to messages quickly. We camped up on the top of the hill. The site was easy to pull up to/ car camp. The view and sunsets were amazing. The creek site was really sweet too and tucked back in the woods (a little more private) but also a walk in with your gear so we opted for the hill spot. We explored the creek trail and also hiked at Hi Tor which was a quick drive. I highly recommend staying there and will go back again.

We had an absolutely amazing time staying at Wild Cherry Creek. The property is gorgeous and the sites to pick from are so different, enabling you to choose your own atmosphere. Ken was a great host. He met us when we got there and showed us around the creek area, told us about the place, and when we were leaving, he and his girlfriend came to say goodbye and check to see if we had a good time.

We set up camp by the abandoned school house, which was a perfect space for us (me, my husband, toddler and two dogs) as we had quite a bit of stuff. We were going to stay by the creek but being our first time camping with the little guy, we had too much stuff to carry down there. Maybe next time! We definitely want to come back.

The sites are maintained well, there’s plenty to do, and it looks like they’ve got more planned to make it even better. Thank you to our hosts for an awesome weekend and first camping experience for our little guy!
