Enjoy nature and privacy on our 50 acres of wild forest, open pasture land, and spring-fed pond surrounded by Annette's cultivated wildflower meadow. Share a day or two with birds, wildlife, rare woodland wild flowers, and of course, the sheep.

This is a working farm rather than a commercial camp site, so everything from setting up a camp site to communications is ad-hoc. Please allow at least 3 days for a response to campsite questions or booking request; time moves slowly on a farm. It's also a good idea to set your watch to "Bovina Time" ;-)

That said, check in time is important, please plan to be here no later than 5:30 pm, or sunset if it's earlier than that. There is no light or electricity at the site, and it takes time to get guests oriented & set up. You should expect a 4 to 4 1/2 hour drive from the NY Metro area without stops, so plan your arrival accordingly.

Right off the bat the drive to Green Shepard Farm was just breath taking. We couldnt stop pulling over to take in the amazing views. It was relativly easy to find, you do loose reception as you get closer to the farm, but if you dont turn off google maps it will lead you straight there. As we arrived Stephen greeted us and showed us around the farm and explained to us how he operates this 50 acre sheep farm all on his own. He also drove us around in his ATV showing us the three campsites on the property. We picked the one that had the best view looking down at the open pasture. Since that site didnt have a fire pit, Stephen built us one in no time. He was also kind enough to give us a fire starter, and fire wood since we didnt bring our own. We pitched our tents, cooked a warm meal, star gazed a little bit and called it a night. The Sheep Farm is better suited for those that are looking for a more primitive style of camping, or just want to stay for one night.
