You are welcome to enjoy miles of walking trails through the forest and orchards of Sunswick Farm, our wild heirloom apple orchard and honey operation (the bees are on the other side of the property and we would love to show them to you if you are interested). Trails lead to a gorge and waterfall. Keep your eyes and ears open for wildlife.
The cabin includes a gas camping stove, so you can make coffee in the morning and a small Weber grill. There is a friendly outhouse a short walk away also nestled in the woods. It is shared with the campsite in the field across the stream from the cabin.
While you will feel secluded at the Cedar Cabin in the Woods, the nearby town of Moravia has all modern conveniences: grocery store, gas station, pizza shop, Loc-Mor thrift (a treasure trove), Kenny's Pharmacy, and more. Don't worry if you left something at home. If it is hot, there are two fantastic swimming spots a short drive away Fillmore Glen (showers available) in Moravia, and The Long Point State Park in Aurora, NY. Located in the Finger Lakes of NY there is no shortage of breweries, wineries, and restaurants to explore as well as scenic and cultural attractions.

A quiet, peaceful cabin in the wood
It is an excellent cabin with a queen sized bed, heat for the cold months and it's in a nice private area. It has firepit, Adirondack chairs, a Weber charcoal grill and cooking utensils to make a nice meal. There is also plenty of trails, a stream and the hosts are just a phonecall or text message away if you need anything.
Want to be secluded this is it..
Awesome RUSTIC getaway. I Had a great time deep in the woods. I slept with the door open so I could hear the brook bubbling it made for a great night sleep. No electricity but awesome oil lanterns which made it that much better. Nice pile of wood was included to cook my hotdogs and marshmallows. No a/c but it was 88 out and in the cabin when I went to bed it was a nice cool 70 deg. The out house has an awesome view. You have to see it. I was a little spooked by a dear snorting right outside the cabin. Plus lots of naturesbeautiful sounds. It made for a great experience. The host was great and informative. I followed them to cabin the showed me around the property and how to use everything. Just GREAT!!!
Cabin with everything and a stream!
Wow! What an amazing place! We were planning on camping and were so pleasantly surprised to find this gem. The cabin was so sweetly decorated and they thought of everything. The bed was very comfortable and they had light from oil lanterns (and a few battery powered ones). The smell from the cedar wood was lovely. We ate dinner there and didn't even need to pull out our supplies because there were plates, bowls, utensils and even pots and pans. They even had a camp stove and gas. So you can pretty much show up with nothing and they have everything you need... Far more than we're used to for camping! We enjoyed the night by the campfire and they had all the wood all ready for us (and the lighter!). We took a great hike down there creek which was a true natural experience... You could tell very few folks have walked there. Brooks took great care of us the whole time, helping out with whatever we needed. I just can't say enough about how wonderful this place is. Check it out! We'll be back, for sure.
Charming cabin in the woods.
This is a really nice place. Very peaceful, away from the rat race, comfortable. The cabin is so quaint. We only stayed one night, but had a great time sitting around the campfire, listening to some music and doing some strumming on my guitar. It was pretty warm out still when we went to bed so we weren't covered up with any blankets and we left the windows and front door open. The cabin does have a screen door. It cooled off nicely during the night and we could hear the stream running and the wind chimes before dozing off. I typically do not sleep well. But we went to bed about 10 and I didn't hear a thing until about 5:30. That's very unusual for me. The only thing I would recommend is if you're going to spend a day or two here and you want to do some hiking make sure you bring bug spray and a hat to keep the bugs off your head. If you want peace, quiet and comfort you'll love this place.
Great private retreat
Camp was very easy to find. Cabin was extremely well maintained and had all cooking amenities including cooktop, cups, silverware, and dishes. Lots of well-maintained hiking trails. Plenty of shady trees great for bringing a hammock. Outhouse was very clean. Good firepit with picnic table nearby. Lots of dining out options nearby in village including great local Hillcrest Dairy farm store.
Lovely, peaceful weekend
If you are looking for peaceful, quiet, secluded, this is the place for you. It was beautiful and relaxing. We could hear the brook at night, and took a long walk one afternoon on the mowed paths. Everything was clean and ready to go, including firewood, oil lamps and pots and pans for the camp stove. I would recommend renters bring flashlights for the dark walk to the outhouse at night and camp chairs for around the fire.
Perfect finger lakes getaway!
Just got back from a 2 night stay by myself at the cedar cabin and I can't wait to book another stay! The cabin was immaculately clean and they thought of everything when it came to amenities (right down to a hot water bottle for the chilly nights) - you could honestly bring nothing but clothes, linens and food and still be comfortable. I just about squealed with joy when I saw the tiny jar of their own honey on my nightstand .(the site being located on a honey farm) And they really aren't joking about the cabin smelling of cedar, which was wonderful! The outhouse was cleaner than any public restroom I've ever been in and had no foul smells. Unfortunately, due to a dry summer, the stream wasn't flowing, but that was more than made up for by the other sounds and sights of nature. The site is very secluded, private and peaceful. With the leaves still on the trees, I couldn't see the main buildings in the distance and felt like I was deep in the woods when I was actually close enough for comfort, being a single woman traveling alone for the first time (btw, no wifi, but the cell signal was always strong). A couple times, I could hear people talking or a car in the yard, but nothing bothersome at all. I loved walking to the pasture at night to see the stars and highly recommend it.
Brooks was an INCREDIBLE host who makes you immediately feel like you've made a new friend. When I booked, I mentioned that I'd love to see her bees and she went above and beyond, taking me out to help her check the hives and on a tour of her brand new operation. After, she sent me back to the cabin with some fresh veggies from her garden. Her husband was lovely and Debbie. who manages the sites, was a joy to have as my initial tour guide.
When I got home yesterday evening, I told my parents all about it and they immediately booked a stay for next week. I'll be recommending Brooks' sites (and honey!) to everyone I can. It was the perfect secluded spot in the Finger Lakes, far from the touristy areas. Can't wait to go back and take my son next time!
