Set among hardwoods, soft pines, and whispering meadow grasses, this property offers numerous campsite possibilities.  Whether you prefer the shade and serenity of the forest, a sunny clearing near the water, or a quiet space among the taller grasses, you'll find a unique space to suit your needs.

In addition to their campsite, campers are welcome to visit with our chickens and ducks, play tetherball and other outdoor sports, venture out in a canoe or kayak (provided upon request with life preservers), or go for a hike on or off the property.  Favorite local destinations include Art Omi, Taconic State Park, High Falls, Bash Bish, and Olana.

Located only 4.9 miles from the renowned Hawthorne Valley Farm Store, campers have access to an abundance of locally grown and organic foods throughout their stay, as well as a wide variety of foods available for takeout from nearby Hudson, Chatham, Great Barrington, Hillsdale, or Copake.  Conveniently located almost equidistantly from the quaint and artsy communities of Hudson, Great Barrington, and Chatham and just a few minutes from the Taconic State Parkway, we are proud to live in an area known for its natural beauty, inspiring views, and diverse mix of locals and transplants.

Your campsite will be located on our scenic rural property with one-acre pond.  Please note that we also live on the property, along with our two friendly dogs and three children, who you may hear and see playing from time to time from nearby campsites, or perhaps not at all if you choose to camp in the woods or on the opposite side of the pond from our home.  Please also note that a dedicated and disinfected porto-let is provided for your needs, as well as a water tap for all of your drinking, cooking, and bathing needs.

Our own eggs and produce are available seasonally, and guided hikes and local sightseeing opportunities are available with a NYS licensed guide for additional fee upon request.

We had a great long weekend here! Heidi and Gordon were gracious hosts and made sure our stay was fun and comfortable. We stayed at the secluded spot up on the hill in the woods and the other side of the pond from the house. It was a lovely spot, very private, very quiet, with deer occasionally walking by in the morning. It was nice to be at a camping spot without other campers around. The port-o-pottie was well maintained and clean. There was access to fresh drinking/cooking water. There was a fire ring by the campsite and the family provided us with free firewood, which we definitely utilized. The kids were awesome and greeted us enthusiastically every time we came back from hiking. Overall, a wonderful spot. In talking to Gordon, seems like they are also constantly thinking of ways to make it even better (was in the process of moving a picnic table out to this site!) and it's obvious that they will continue to work to make it a good experience for whomever is staying there.

This was our first time hipcamping and it was such a wonderful experience. Heidi and her family were such amazing hosts and we felt very welcomed as soon as we pulled up. We stayed in the back campground and it felt as if we were in our own forest, surrounded by the lovely noises of wildlife. Highly recommend staying here if you are looking for the perfect outdoor weekend getaway.

Lovely campsite in the woods on the other side of the pond. Feels secluded and gorgeous. Firewood was ready to go upon arrival. We had a great time. Hosts are super friendly.

Heidi and Gordon made us feel very accommodated on their property. Our site was nestled a little back in the woods, where their modern farmhouse was in view from our campfire and tent. They brought us ample wood at a good deal, and helped us load up our gear on their trailer which was driven up to our camp site.

Early morning pond life offered views of deer, chipmunks and plenty of birds along with sounds of a few frogs. A picnic table and fire ring helped us enjoy the outdoors.

Overall a good experience.

Great campsite, super private and beautiful. Recommend 100%! Great hiking in the area and close to both taconics and Hudson. Hosts came to meet us in person even though arriving late. Loud frogs in the pond so you may want to bring earplugs.
