7 Extremely Private Sites ~ Outdoor Private Shower and Toilet Available Sweeping pastoral hillsides mixed with densely wooded private acres make our camp sites unique with each one offering a different experience. We have developed a network of trails to enjoy and offer swimming, catch release fishing, hiking, and biking is nearby at the Slate Valley Trails. Our bucolic farmland was originally for milking cows, it was leased at times for mining red slate when Granville was at its peak. Technology changed and the industry left us with beautiful abandoned quarry holes that have filled with natural spring water. Our farm currently offers firewood, bagged spring ice, spring water, and we operate a farm stand on the weekends seasonally selling our own pesticide produce and free range eggs. We also have a 40 acre parcel with a Lookout Tower and Cabin that is Incredible. "Slateville Retreat" No words to describe! Please note for al major holidays a 3 night minimum is required.

The Oak Tree Site
Heather was extremely accommodating. Sadly, the car we brought was not suitable enough to go up the hill to our camp site and she was kind enough to bring us up in her truck. She gave us a map of the area which was super helpful when we decided to explore the day after. The eggs that were provided were delicious and of great quality. And the land we were able to explore was incredible and unbelievable. Also, LOVE the cows. Thank you, heather! See you soon

The Oak Tree Site
Heather was a perfect hostess. Quick to respond to texts and very punctual. She wasted no time getting me set up at an alternate sight (The Ridgeline) due to the amount of rain which made the route to the Oak Tree impassable. A very extensive network of trails on the property—4WD necessary if rain is in the forecast. The site was very clean and I felt very at home. Firewood is available which is a plus.

Highland Cows like sweet potatoes.
My boyfriend and I loved camping here. We are from Texas and had the pleasure of snow camping for the first time! Heather was very generous, easily available, and provided us with everything we needed while we were there. The farm is absolutely amazing and there are plenty of things to see and do. We also loved feeding her highland cows sweet potatoes! (highlight of our trip). Also her spring water is delicious. Thank you Heather and we would definitely stay again if we are ever in the area.

Beautiful views!
We had such a peaceful weekend getaway at the oak tree site! We loved waking up to the mountain views each morning and the stars at night were breathtaking. Heather was an amazing host and set us up with everything we needed. The picnic table was perfect and the private outhouse was very clean. The farm itself is beautiful and we loved exploring all the trails. We had one of our best hipcamp experiences here and will definitely be back when the weather gets warmer!

The Oak Tree Site
This was our 5th and best experience camping through Hipcamp. Our host was above and beyond our expectations. She was very communicative through our arrival and check-in. There was an awesome farm store that she has as well. We took some fresh eggs, potatoes, sweet onions, leeks and goat milk soap home. Our view was extraordinary and private. We had a clear night with the best sunset and stars. It’s also about 45 minute drive to Manchester VT. We spent a lot of time there exploring, well worth it. As well as visiting Abraham Lincoln’s sons home (Robert) and Pullman Train in Vermont (35 minute drive). Such a great nature trip, we can’t wait to go back.
