Woah! This place has it all. Gorgeous property with amazing views, lakeside and forest camping with friendly faces to greet you and show you around. We opt for lakeside of course and it didn't disappoint.
Had a wonderful time camping at The Great Heron. We were in the area for the Wild America Festival at Panama Rocks and found the perfect spot! There were a lot of people everywhere we went in the greater Chautauqua area, but we were tucked away and secluded in the woods all on our own. We felt like we found the most private and special place to camp. They also have a lovely pond where you can swim or kayak. The Great Heron hosts many festivals throughout the year and it gives camping an interesting flair to camp on festival grounds. Definitely check out the farm store and bring som extra money to stock up on happy animal products, shiitakes, honey, and maple syrup!
Great place for our family of 4 for a weekend camping trip! We were able to have our pick
of tent sites nicely nestled in the forest. Had plenty of privacy. Just a short walk from facilities and handy access to firewood.
Amazing spot! Saw many friendly Amish on my way, had a whole grassy nook to myself, helped harvest shiitake mushrooms, and slept well! Great little organic farm shop and very friendly hosts! Don’t miss it!

We had a great weekend!! The Heron was full of cool surprises. Art in the woods, fun trails, wonderful hosts willing to share their space. Time with the cows, the mushrooms...The weather wasn’t the best but the environment that surrounded us made it so worth while. Thank you for an amazing few days!! We’ll definitely be back!

The Heron provided us the picturesque locale and privacy we were searching for. Our hosts were kind and congenial. The pond was perfect! It didn't matter when it rained; too many other things to do! The Comedy Museum and the Lucy and Desi Museum in Jamestown were great.

This was our first HipCamp stay & we are hooked. We loved the Heron. Steve & Julie were friendly. Showers were hot. Lovely views & fun spaces to walk through. Art everywhere. The only slight disappointment was the electric didn’t work.
Awesome! We highly recommend to stay at this camping. The countryside around is great, you will have a very nice view. It was quiet, we had a lot of space. The food from the farm that you can purchase at their store was delicious. We felt very safe and welcomed. Make sure to check out the other events there such as the Music Festival, the 5k, and the concerts.
The Heron is a beautiful farm. When we arrived, Julie greeted us right away and gave a little tour of different campsite options for us to choose from. Everyone on site was very friendly. And the Amish neighbors were friendly too!
The owners hosts music festivals at their camp site and there were plenty of bathroom facilities, sinks, showers, wood and ice. There is also a kitchen on site.
The stars are really amazing on a clear night and the views of the farmland are beautiful. There are forest and trails you can walk through as well. Overall, I would recommend this camp ground to anyone, and we might come back for a music fest next year! You will feel safe and comfortable, so this is a great spot if you are newer to camping or not a frequent camper.
