Come stay in our 1880s vintage summer cottage, built as a studio by a Keene Valley artist on a secluded and elevated spot in the center of the Adirondacks' High Peaks. It has a gorgeous view of Giant, Hopkins and Spread Eagle mountains. The summer cottage overlooks a cliff and is a few hundred yards from the nearest house, a classic Adirondack camp that shares its driveway but can't be seen. Even so, it is within walking distance of the village of Keene Valley, where you won't want to miss homemade donuts at the Noonmark Diner. Hikers love it because it's a 20-minute walk to The Garden, one of the largest and most popular trailheads in the Adirondacks that has very little parking.
The cottage has a huge covered porch (not screened) that looks out on the mountains and functions as an outdoor dining room with a view. The accommodations are rustic but comfortable: a bedroom with a double bed; a kitchen with a stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker; a bathroom with a shower/bath; and a large sitting room with a stone fireplace and a futon that sleeps two. There is a one-room cabin nearby (also available for rent) with a screened porch that is perfect for sleeping in the summer.
