Our two main issues with this location and why I would not recommend it was the price and the sound pollution.

We initially booked one spot for 6 people (3 tents) but then were told that we had to book a separate spot for each tent- meaning we had to pay an additional $150 + all of hipcamps fees for each site. At the point we found out this information was too late to secure another spot so we went ahead. ---The property is beautiful, it is well maintained and the hosts were great. However after we were shown to our spot it was clearly just one site (one fire pit) not the three that we had been required to book.

Furthermore the site is incredibly noisy. There is a busy road, a small ravine then the site sitting parallel to the road. We could hear (and see) cars/ trucks/ motorcycles you name it at all hours. It was so loud that I couldn't hear my friends talking over the campfire.

Kevin and Leah's sites are well maintained but we were really turned off by the surprise additional fees, last-minute legal waivers, threats of $5000 fines and 'trespassers shot' signage.

Kevin and Leah were so kind, waiting up late to welcome us in around midnight after a long drive. We would have liked to spend more time with the sweet horses and exploring the property, but hopefully we can return someday! This was a great experience and a safe place for us to rest during a long journey. Thank you Kevin and Leah!

All-in-all a really nice campsite. The hosts are clear on what they expect from you from the get go, so as long as you respect their rules they will respect you. Very nice hosts, including the wonderful Taylor who introduced our group to all the different horses and taught us a lot about them. Really fun to learn about the horses and get to pet them and hang with em (most especially Cruiser). Keep in mind this place is a bit more on the family friendly side of things (10pm no music, kid friendly horse rides etc...) so if you’re a specifically rambunctious group I’d say let them know before-hand. Wish we could’ve said goodbye before we took off. Until next time!👋🏻

Just know what you’re getting into before you get there. The place is not private or secluded AT ALL. You’re literally camping in someone’s (well-groomed) backyard. You can see the road and cars from your site (and hear cara going by all day and all night). You can see the owner’s house from the site. The sites are close together and the trees are pretty sparse, so if any of your neighbors are playing music or talking (ours were, at very respectable volumes) you’re gonna hear it loud and clear. One of our camp-neighbors said they almost turned around and left immediately after seeing the place, except they had already driven over two hours to get there, haha.

Also they way overcharge for firewood ($20 for a small bundle hahaha) and it was fresh, wet wood that wouldn’t light on fire. Some of the wood literally had green leaves sticking out of it and ooozed literal water when I chopped it into smaller pieces!!! Wouldn’t be so bad except they have a strict rule against bringing in outside firewood, even from the gas station 5m away.

ALSO also, they charged us an ADDITIONAL $100 in ***cash*** when we got there because we had a little play tent set up for our daughter that we didn’t tell them about ahead of time. They claimed something about ‘insuring additional structures’ which of course sounds made up. I even told them they didn’t have to ‘insure’ our $15 cheapo tent but they made us pay up or take it down (to the tears of our daughter). In my 30 years of camping I’ve never had to pay additional fees (we already paid for the site and there were no extra people) or had to insure our tents (ridiculous). I brought my camping hammock like I always do, but we didn’t put it up because we were worried they’d try to charge us even more!!!!

The owners seemed to try to act nice and polite, which is cool, but they’ll still gouge you at every turn.

There are horses and goats, which is nice. Our daughter did enjoy going to the pen once or twice a day and petting the horses. So that was cool.

Also no mosquitoes whatsoever, so that’s another plus. Their porta-potty was clean and well-tended.

Leah and Kevin were incredibly welcoming. They were super responsive on the Hipcamp site or whenever we needed to text. Once there they greeted us to explain where to park and how to get to our sites.
They allowed us to use their home bathroom whenever we needed for that extra luxury and there is also the option of going horseback riding! I would stay again. Overall great weekend.

Great experience. Kevin and Leah were great hosts. The site was private while we were there, but does have potential to be less private if they had more bookings. My kids loved tromping around, petting the horses, and playing in the creek. There are a couple of cats that wonder around. My kids loved them, but they were a little too friendly if you’re not a cat lover. Overall we had a great couple of nights and would recomend this sight to others.
