Papa’s Place is a cabin with ALL the amenities of home, but tucked back in the woods on the top of a mountain. Complete with electricity, HOT and cold running, potable water, ac, heat, internet and television. This 2 bedroom, 900 sq. ft. cabin, complete with fresh bedding and towels, sleeps up to four and gives total privacy to the occupants. Maybe a hiker or two will walk by, but no traffic. It’s at the top of Mt. Zion Road in Marlboro, so it’s a 10-40 minute drive to most of the wineries, orchards, restaurants, and farms that our area boasts. Weed’s Farm and Winery is at the bottom of the road. There are MANY u-pick farms, wineries, and outdoor hiking spots in the immediate area. We are close to the Walkway Over The Hudson, and Buttermilk Falls Inn and Spa and 35 minutes from Historic Hyde Park. We are not far from New Paltz, which is a popular college town with awesome restaurants, bars, and nightlife, and also boasts access to Mohonk Mountain and Preserve, and Lake Minnewaska, two very popular outdoor exploratory destinations. If you’re looking for some good eats and entertainment nearby, the famous Raccoon Saloon has great food, and The Falcon is a live music venue with food, and both are in the center of Marlboro, 10 minutes away. When you’re done exploring the Hudson Valley, you and your guests can retire to this comfortable, updated, rustic house and feel totally at home. Bathroom, shower, full working kitchen with pots and pans, dishes. Anything you would have in your own kitchen, you will find here, we share condiments and spices so no need to bring your own. Kitchen provides a Keurig coffee machine, so bring your favorite K-cups or use ours with a complimentary first morning cup and others for 50 cents to cover our cost. Relish sitting outside, in total isolation, and surrounded by nature, listening to the crickets and peepers from the nearby pond. There are several trails attached to the property, and a charcoal grill and cooking chiminea outside, as well as a picnic table. Well behaved pets welcome although we do not allow pets on the furniture and certainly not in the beds. You are responsible for your pets behavior and clean up. Pets are not to be left alone in the house if they are not crated and completely house trained. No pee pads. Check out photos of fungi we’ve found around the trails. Great for mushroom hunting! We would love for you to enjoy the magic of PaPa's Place as so many others have. Ask about long term stay perks and discounts.

If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
This brick and stone cabin is nestled down a private driveway in the Catskills and surrounded by trees. You can hear chipmunks and the odd deer rustling in the forest, otherwise, it's a very peaceful escape from New York City.
On arrival we met Eileen who gave us a bottle of wine and fresh eggs from a family farm on arrival and told us the history of Papa's Place.
The cabin comfortably sleeps 3 - 4, with the second bedroom being a pullout single bed that has two tiers.
The kitchen was fully stocked (and so organised!) so you just need to bring food. We cooked over the firepit and had breakfast at the picnic table, spending most of our time outside in the summer heat. I can imagine in winter though how cozy this place would be in the snow with a roaring fire and the generous stack of board games or a movie.
There's trails right on the doorstep for an easy walk including a small path that leads to the lake, trees glittering with tiny heirlooms and ribbons that vistors have placed there to create a space for memories. A short drive away (about 20 min) we went hiking at Mohonk Preserve for some epic views over the Catksills.
Papa's Place was an awesome getaway, very well equiped for relaxation and special because it has a history; memories and stories visible in its decoration and construction.
We had a lovely time staying at the Papa's cabin! The place was comfortable, clean, cozy and secluded. Our hosts were very welcoming and approachable and did everything to make our stay seamless. The place is close to New Paltz and Minnewaska State Park, and Marlboro itself has a few places worth checking out. We highly recommend Papa's cabin and can't wait to return!
Papa’s place is great. It is newly renovated, extremely clean, and very comfortable. The grounds are very beautiful to explore. The hosts are very kind and helpful. The place has a wonderful vibe.
This place was AMAZING!! Not only was it the perfect secluded getaway but Carla and Eileen were so helpful and accommodating. We felt like we were at home. We will definitely be back. Thanks again ladies! You rock!
The entire experience was wonderful!!! The house is cozy , clean and comfortable. The property is beautiful. The host was so sweet and gracious! I truly wish I could have stayed longer!! Will definitely return next year.
Stayed here for a weekend getaway from NYC, and it was absolutely perfect. All communications and instructions, including access, were clear and timely. Eileen and Carla left plenty of tips for the property and the local area, while also ensuring complete privacy. The paths and scenery were gorgeous! The home is outfitted with everything you'll need - we cooked a full dinner in the well-stocked kitchen after visiting a few farmstands and enjoyed a bottle of wine from our lovely hosts. Plus wifi worked great. Highly recommend!
