Our property has plenty of room for hiking and exploring along with beautiful creeks for wading and cooling off.

The road frontage of the property is a small mobile home park which homes 10 very sweet families. The camp sites are about 3/4 of a mile out behind the park.

Our property is centrally located between both Seneca and Cayuga lake, hiking trails and tons of awesome wineries and breweries are just a few of the fun things our region has to offer.

The Retro RV was a true delight ! My fiancee is super into camping but i just needed that bit above the "tent" life. The RV definitely delivered. Everything about the campsite was awesome including a firepit, great treeline views, and property to hike around. We wish it had rained a bit more prior to our trip because the creek by the site was pretty dry :( but hey, that's nature, can't predict the weather! Overall great experience !

Retro RV at minglewood campa little dry due to recent drought but still fun to poke around a view from the creek edge actually super comfy beds !

Overall: we enjoyed ourselves quite a bit during our 6 day trip and would definitely stay at this property again!

Host: Ben is a phenomenal host, very friendly! He is also a fount of knowledge, one evening we spent almost an hour talking about the different trees on their property. He treated us all like we were old friends.

Land/Area: Ben's parcel of land is truly beautiful. Heavily wooded with many natural trails, we enjoyed exploring the parcel. One caveat, the region has experienced a prolonged drought so the creek that flows through the property is pretty dried up. A minor disappointment. Within a very short drive is the Finger Lakes National Forest where many hours can be spent hiking. Seneca Lake is close by also, a 10-15 minute drive puts you at the southern tip with boat access. Next time we will be bringing our kayaks!

RV: We had never stayed in a RV, much less an older one. It was very charming, the 70's vibe was very evident here. There are 2 beds in the sleeping area (above the beds are 2 very small bunks, maybe suitable for little kids). The sofa bench in the kitchen area is also suitable for sleeping. All were very comfortable with clean linens. The RV has electricity via a large battery (that can be charged up with a generator in the RV) and that powers the lights and the water pump. There is a stove/oven that runs off propane and that worked just fine. There is a full bathroom; sink, toilet and shower and the water can be heated (there is a little switch inside that turns on a gas heater) and the water gets HOT. This is where we ran into a little trouble with the longer stay. It can get tricky estimating when the water is going to run out or when the tanks need to be drained and it's a bit awkward when it does. Nevertheless, we never had to wait more than a few hours to get refilled.

One last comment, this area in general was loaded with bugs, we brought a screen tent with us and that worked well as did liberal applications of DEET.

Ben was an awesome host, funny, and super welcoming. Loved our 4 night experience in the RV while cooking out by the fire pit. If you’re into retro living and connecting to nature then “this is definitely the place to be.” Just awesome!
