This is an OUTSTANDING camp!!! Do not miss it!!!
Hosts are great and directions were spot on. Easy to find. We went during the CoVid crisis and they were both super careful during our meet and greet. Everything in the cabin was sanitized and new mattresses were provided. The cabin is straight from a movie with A view worthy of dreams. We are definitely going back just to enjoy the cabin again.
An absolutey magical experience
The Cabin at Minglewood Camp is in and of itself and idyllic experience. The charming energy efficient dwelling lies secluded in a beautiful and serene area. Its location adjacent to a freshwater creek is a perfect place for a family get away. My wife and three small children, who it can be hard to keep in one location under most circumstances, enjoyed plenty of hours by the cabin searching for crayfish and salamanders in the creek, skipping rocks, cooking, and sitting by the fire. My wife and I even got some relaxing reading in- no small feat with three kids under 8.
But it's the owners, Ben and Emma, who take the experience to another level. Our family of five (plus our Boston Terrier) have plenty of travel and camping behind us and our five days at Minglewood was one of the best getaways we have ever had. Ben and Emma know the area inside and out and are incredibly generous with their time, suggestions, and insight into off the beaten path hikes and swimming holes. Ben took us all on his boat for a day of fishing for lake trout, where his experience in those waters led to hauling in more than we could eat. After our trip, Emma met us on the lake for a cookout where our kids swam. To close the night out, we headed back by boat during a beautiful sunset. It was an experience our family is still talking about.
The mission behind Minglewood is also an incredibly noble and important one, which I encourage you to ask Ben and Emma about. Their inspiring vision is something that the world could certainly use right now. Its also something my wife and I look forward to hearing more about when we go back for our adult only weekend, which we booked immediately upon arriving home!
Soothing, peaceful, beautiful
We had a wonderful experience at Minglewood from start to finish. What a privilege to share this beautiful land with the friendly and very hospitable owners. Our one night stay was all we could have expected and more. The newly built cabin is highly functional and perfectly placed. Our family of four fell asleep in cozy spacious bunks, with a toasty fire in the wood stove, to the sound of rain falling on the tin roof, and the waterfalls cascading outside the window. Although we could have taken advantage of nearby parks, we stayed to enjoy the land, the quiet, and the creek, which was great for exploration.
We have nothing but rave reviews for this special spot!
Emma and Ben were amazing, kind and incredibly helpful. Their vision of sustainability/ efficiency for the property is inspiring. The cabin/ land is stunning and very close to lots of parks and trails. We had an absolutely amazing time!
Amazing stay, amazing location!!
Minglewood camp was amazing! Ben greeted us when we arrived and showed us around to make sure we had everything we needed. The cabin is perfectly located in the woods next to the water, it was so peaceful we didn't want to leave!
Great hosts/personalized experience
The cabin at Minglewood was perfect for our family of four. The solar shower and kitchen sink water worked great, the outdoor fireplace was amazing, the creek was peaceful and the location was about twenty minutes from all of the popular waterfall hikes near Ithaca. Our host even told us about a secret waterfall hike that did not fall under as many state regulations for swimming.
