Holly has a great setup boardering state park land with trails that connect. The area has a lot to offer with some great hikes. They have potable water available close to the camp site and a porta potty at the site. If you like animals, they have all sorts of farm friends for you to watch and visit with. It was a wonderful place to stay.

We loved camping at Hee Haw Haven! My kids loved all of the different animals, play areas, zip line, and camping for the first time. Holly and her husband were so welcoming and generous. They want to return soon (in their minds all camping happens there) and wonder if they can build a portal to get there faster.

Hee Haw Haven - Camping on the farm
Hee Haw Haven is an awesome camping spot! Flat, sandy ground, fire pit, and plenty of room for our two vehicles. Picnic table, outhouse and garbage can at the campsite. They supplied us with a water cooler too, and had fill spots around the property.
They have additional picnic tables in the shade next to the donkey pastures.
A 3-5 minute walk through the woods to showers and lake at a public campground.
Holly gave us a tour of the property and introduced us to all of their farm animals.
We opted for the donkey clinic, and it was so much fun! Brushing, cleaning, and leading the donkeys on a walk through the woods.
The site and their farm is a short drive from Plattsburgh, other Lake Champlain beaches, and Adirondack hikes.
Ultimately it was a fantastic camping spot, and I would recommend it to anyone!

This is such a magical place! The campsite and facilities are super clean and our hosts were absolutely wonderful and hospitable. This place is a donkey sanctuary and there are so many friendly animals. Our hosts introduced us to their donkeys, goats, horses, and alpacas. They take such great care of their animal friends. Coming here feels like visiting family. We canât wait to be back!

The Kickin'up dust farm is really awesome!!
We had a wonderful time at Holly and Ken's place. The kids had the chance to see all the animals upclose and the playground area is amazing!
Important point to mention, you'll be 15min away (walking) from the beach of the state park and it's really nice.
Would definitely go back there.

We had an amazing weekend at Hollyâs. It was so quiet and peaceful ! Kids were so happy about animals and playground. The campsite is walking distance from the beach of the state park which was wonderful. Thanks for your hospitality Holly and Ken . We definitely recommend :)

A truly amazing place! You can wake up and walk around to see donkeys, horses, peacocks, chickens, ducks, and goats. Wait until you get there to buy the real farm eggs for breakfast! Holly and Ken supplied us with more than enough firewood, and the water they also provide has that cold-mountain spring crisp clean taste. They are wonderful hosts. If you have kids, the playground would keep them busy all day. Holly and Ken even have a little shop where you can buy hand-made soaps, lotions, artwork, and crafts. It was pure joy to spend the weekend there and we will return!

We had a great time staying in the camper for the eclipse! Holly and family were above-and-beyond great hosts. The camper was clean, cozy and comfortable (and warm!) and we had use of a veranda and fire pit just for us. The farm itself and the animals are awesome, and they gave us a great tour and even showed us local trail heads and other places to enjoy in the area. Even without the eclipse it would have been great a trip. We were also able to do some hiking and biking in the area that was really beautiful - and itâs far from peak season! I would recommend to other campers and hope to back myself in the summer!

Holly and her husband were unbelievably hospitable. Not only did they help me arrange my camper on the site, they sponsored a hotdog and chip meal and arranged a solar eclipse party. Our site was great and we had an outhouse within walking distance from our camper. The outhouse was well stocked and clean. I would highly recommend staying at their property.

We got in two days before the eclipse and Holly and Ken have been incredible hosts! As soon as we pulled in we were greeted and brought fresh water and wood to our campsites. We had the opportunity to meet the animals at feeding time and were invited for hot cocoa the next morning. During the eclipse, we were invited out to the front of the property where Ken and Holly had provided hot dogs and snacks! The site was well maintained, close to trails and had a clean portapotty nearby. Would absolutely recommend a stay at Kickin Up Dust Farm!

The property is so beautiful and a great escape. We loved the site, especially the fire pit. It was very easy to start a fire when we arrived late.
The outhouse was clean and dry even during the stormy weather. We enjoyed the trails with our pup. You can tell that the hosts put a lot of thought into their farm. That love pours out in every detail. The fresh eggs were delicious and we canât wait to go again!

If youâre in the area I definitely recommend staying at hee haw haven! Holly and Ken are the nicest people and amazing host. They got our site all set up providing us with plenty of water and firewood and made sure we had everything we need.
Then we got to go on the tour to visit all their fur babies. Horses, donkeys, alpacas, goats,chickens,pheasants,peacocks,ducks,pigeons. Me and my husband loooved it! Now I have to get a mini donkey đ
The sites are very private, set back behind the farm.
And in the morning we cooked us some of the fresh eggs from their chickens and they were so good!
Again I highly recommend staying with Holly and Ken. Theyâre amazing hosts and we had a lot of fun

Peaceful moments in the Adirondacks
I arrived as a stranger, but Holly and Ken made me feel like a family!
There are two spots where you can pitch your tent, both just far away from one another that it feels nice and private. There is a picnic table with benches available at both sites as well as a fire pit and an outhouse. Nearby, there is a public camping ground with showers that can be used 24/7.
The animals on the farm are absolutely adorable and you can find horses, donkeys, goats and alpacas! There are also fresh eggs available from numerous chickens. And let me not forget about their lovely dogs and a cat protecting the property :)
I sincerely don't have enough words of appreciation and admiration for Holly and Ken. I did a very challenging hike nearby and the following day I felt blessed by the warmth and generosity of the family. I was invited into their home and they even prepared a delicious meal. If you need to expand your knowledge about our solar system, one of their sons is a way better source than Wikipedia!
If you plan to camp and explore the Adirondacks, I would highly recommend the Hee Haw Haven, as you will feel welcome from the moment you step your foot onto the ground.

This was my best experience yet with sites from Hipcamp. Camping at Kickin' UP Dust the Farm was amazing. Holly the host was always very responsive and helpful. The site was clean, and the provided everything you ask for. Great quiet setting. I would recommend to anyone.

Hee Haw Haven was lovely and peaceful with plenty of walking trails and a nearby lake. I stayed there with my 3 dogs so I did not get to spend any time with the animals that live there but hopefully if I ever come out this way again I will be sure to do that!

It was secluded in the woods behind their farm/house. It was a nice flat area with a picnic table, fire pit and outhouse. They provided a good amount of wood with a fire extinguisher. They also offered to show us around the Farm to give us information on the animal's there such as, donkeys, horses, goats ect.. Overall a great experience with nice people.

We were totally blown away by our stay at Hee Haw Haven. This is truly a gem of an experience, and Iâd recommend it and also come back here again for sure!
The campsite itself was in a large wooded area filled with wild blueberry bushes and tall trees. The ground was topped with sand in certain places like the tent area, cement fire pit, and the outhouse to make a more comfortable and functional experience. The campsites are somewhat private, and spaced appropriately from not only each other, but also a good distance from the hostâs home and farm.
The location was excellent. The campsite connects to Macomb Park and Davis Lake via foot trails, and is also just a short 15 minute drive to Lake Champlain. You can do all kinds of activities in the area and there are stores, restaurants, and gas stations within a short drive.
My partner and I really enjoyed our Tails on Trails donkey walk with the family, the farm-fresh eggs, and the bundle of firewood we purchased! Holly and Ken were so kind and made sure we enjoyed every part of our stay, going above and beyond. They had fresh jugs of water waiting for us, brought paper products for the outhouse, let us meet ALL the animals, lent us tarps for when it was raining, and were flexible with our check-in/out times. They were really warm, genuine, and generous! It was 4th of July holiday weekend, and they STILL made sure we were taken care of.
We truly felt like this was a unique experience and was such a great quality for the price!!

Attention all animal lovers! Stop what you're doing and book a night or two at Hee Haw Haven asap! Holly and her husband have created a truly magical place.
Within a too short 48 hours my girlfriend and I... pet and loved on about a dozen miniature donkeys (including one who was only weeks old), bottle fed two baby goats, took a guided walk with some donkeys to the nearby state park, marveled at a peacock, laughed at some ducks, fed some horses AND played with a litter of Golden Retriever puppies!!! All while surrounded by the beautiful, thought out and immaculate surroundings created by the hosts. They couldn't have been friendlier and were happy to answer my billions of questions. They clearly love their animals and it shows. They all looked incredibly happy and healthy. Well mannered and sweet.
There is also an extensive play ground/picnic area next to the animal pens. Even a puppet show theatre! I would imagine children would absolutely love it. While we there the hosts welcomed a group of special needs children to enjoy the animals and have some fun. We could hear the laughter from far away. They were clearly having a wonderful time. We were told they do this often and I personally think that's just beyond fantastic.
The actual campsites are well thought out and spacious. I was able to easily pull right up to the site in my Subaru. The road back to the sites was flat and smooth enough that I'd imagine any car would get there no problem. There was a flat and soft patch of sand for our tent, a firepit and brand new picnic table. A very clean outhouse was located about 40 yards or so away. The sites are surrounded by tall pines and clusters of birch trees. Song birds galore. We heard some neighbors somewhat close by during the day but not nearly enough to break the tranquility. Night times were quite and peaceful... minus the occasional braying of a donkey but who doesn't love that?
There are several beautiful trails that go from the campsites directly in to Macomb Park. There you'll find a beautiful, rather large pond begging to be kayaked. You will also find a playground, some showers and other state park amenities.
We were absolutely thrilled with our time spent here and are still glowing. We can't wait to go back. If you are animal lover but maybe don't have the space for farm animals in your 1 bedroom apartment I can't recommend this place highly enough. Holly and her husband have truly built something special here and I'm grateful that they're so willing to share it. I can't stress enough how clean the grounds were and how healthy the animals were. The hosts clearly take pride in caring for them and it shows.
A++, can't wait to love on a baby donkey again...
