Our campsites are surrounded by rich natural forests. Located at the northern tip of the Appalachian Mountains- our hills are alive with trees! Hidden in these natural playgrounds are some very big trees. We offer quiet, restful and level places to pitch your tent and enjoy the big woods. We have firewood to purchase for your campsite and water is available close by. This area is the terminal site for the Wisconsin Glacier which ravaged this area in the last ice age. This event brought us spectacular views, deep spring fed lakes and ponds, steep hills and giant rock formations. We are very close the Old Order Amish Community that offers a varied opportunity for shopping, homemade crafts, food, quilts and furniture. Their picturesque farms dot the landscape and remind us of a simpler, quieter and more peaceful time. Just 15 minutes away is 65,000 acres of pristine forest in the Allegany State Park. Numerous hiking trails and lakes and beach front surround you in this crown jewel of the New York State Park System. We are also just 20 minutes from the Lucille Ball National Comedy Center in Jamestown, and the prestigious Chautauqua Institute on the beautiful Chautauqua Lake.

We enjoyed our stay here, our first Hipcamp experience. Fred and Frieda were fabulous hosts, going above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Our tent site was at the edge of a beautiful fern-filled ravine with a creek trickling far below - but right off the road, so easy to access. There’s a nice flat tent pad, a picnic table and fire ring. It’s conveniently located less than 10 minutes to I86. We highly recommend and will be using Hipcamp again! Thank you!

We would definitely camp here again! Fred & Freida were extremely welcoming. They gave us a tour of the site and suggestions of nearby activities. The property is gorgeous with countless tall trees.

Site 1 has a nice flat area that is perfect for tent camping. Site 2 does not have a designated flat area, but we still found a great place to pitch a tent. Fred & Freida have filled both sites with chairs and a table for extra convenience. There is even a rope walk if you wish to explore the ravine.

Sites 1 and 2 are close to the road, but with so little traffic and a barrier of trees we had a private and private stay.

You need to check this place out! Fred was incredibly friendly and accommodating (despite a clue hiccups on our end), the trails were beautiful, and the amenities were awesome (firewood and fire pit, outhouse, designated tent set up area, etc). This is definitely the most bang for your buck you're going to find, and a great spot for a little camping get away.

Fred and Frieda met me at the campsite and already had a fire going! They were kind and maintained a lovely campsite with a picnic table and fire pit with firewood. There was a large flat area that fit two three-person tents and probably could put more around the firepit. Fred and Frieda also told us about the Amish community nearby and their child’s dairy farm up the road and offered us tours. They were great! Beautiful spot!

Fred and Freida’s camp is a perfect getaway spot. Campsite #3 was tucked back into the woods of their beautiful property, complete with a table, fire pit and chairs. The couple is refreshingly welcoming and go the extra mile to make you feel at home. Their homestead is super unique and has a gorgeous view of the valley. Plus, it’s just a quick 20ish minute drive to ASP, and you don’t have to worry about crowds and the busy bathrooms that the park offers. Speaking of which, their outhouse was super clean, adorning a sweet little window for you to view the outdoors while you do your business.

My boyfriend, dog and I plan to visit again in the future. Highly recommend!

We can't say enough good things about our experience camping at Fred & Freida's! They were so welcoming and the site provided everything we needed: a flat area for tent, a picnic table, chairs, and a fire pit. We only had a chance to explore a small section of the woods, ravines and creek that surrounded our site. Can't wait to return!

We absolutely loved Fred & Freida' Big Trees and Steep Ravines. Their place is easy to find and they have several different campsites throughout their site. The location is absolutely gorgeous - beautiful big farm house and barn on a hill overlooking the valley.

We had a last minute change and went from a group of 4 people to 6. I messaged the owners and got a quick reply that it would not be a problem. And when we got there they were very welcoming, and very thoughtful about finding the best site for the 6 of us. They had us stay at site at the edge of a ravine and forest that was absolutely perfect. All of their sites have been cleared and leveled so lots of places to set up tents. They also had a firepit and very inexpensive firewood.

We were able to do a fair bit of hiking on the trails at their property - they were all gorgeous.

I can't recommend these guys highly enough. 5 star rating for sure!!!
