The vibe at Finger Lakes Land Trust Gem
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
We arrived at the Finger Lakes Land Trust near dusk and our host was unaware and surprised that we were camping there that weekend. In fact, she thought we were hip camp field staff and there to evaluate the site before the listing went live. She was a bit reluctant to let us stay and was worried about potential insurance issues. The sites themselves were not setup/developed yet so we were recommended to stay by a barn near the house. Considering the circumstances, we opted to only stay one of the nights we booked.
Despite this, Franny was very kind to let us strangers stay considering the circumstances. She even provided outdoor fireplace, some wood, and showed us were we could get water. She even invited us to join her and friends for a meal.
The Finger Lakes Land Trust has a ton of potential. The site itself is quite expansive. It features rolling hills, a creek, and many grazing fields for the animals. The property is just off a a lonely country road that sees very little traffic. We were surrounded by the view of rolling hills that were colored yellow with blooming flowers. The property contains many animals, including cats, goats, horses, pigs, and ducks. Great place for stargazing as well.
Thank you for making the best of it!
