Jennifer is a fabulous host. Any question I had before or during the trip was answered quickly. The property was lovely and felt remote even though it was only a short drive into town. And, bonus it’s about 7 minutes away from several wineries!! There is a creek/waterfall in the property but very little water running when we visited. If you plan to use the creek/waterfall for swimming or rinsing off ( note no showers at this property) you may want to check water levels ahead of time so you are prepared. The sites were a little closer together than I expected but at no time did we feel crowded. The driving conditions are best suited for a 4x4. We brought our Nissan Altima but should have brought the Jeep as the Altima bottomed out when we were getting to/from our site.

We stayed here thinking it would be a great experience for the kids to experience true camping. Well we called asked to make sure their were showers and water on site, like the listing advertised. When we got there we asked where the showers were? She mentioned there's no true shower but the gorge, but no soap in water allowed (no big deal bad for streams). When we got to this "gorge" and "picturesque" water fall it was barely a trickle with no safe pass for the kids to get down to see it (trickle better than nothing). Then she informs us she had a bad poison ivy problem which wouldnt have been a bad thing if her answer to where is it the worst so the kids dont go there and her answer was everywhere is horrible with it. The hiking trails were just area between the alarming close camp sites 10 minutes total to cover them all. When we got to camp site 4 (wooded site) there were 2 trees in the brush like of poison ivy and raspberry bushes. So there was no shade (reason we wanted it was for trees and shade) told us not to hang hammocks from the trees which was a bummer. land did not have one level spot which would have been nice to know way before hand to bring necessary gear. She also charged me a cancellation fee for booking the wrong day and she called me and told me to change it wouldnt charge anything well it did and we paid extra because we had 10 people going when we got there she charged another 10$ under the table. Waivers were not present no receipts for purchase of fire wood or ice. Overall alot of lies she worded it how she wanted to, to get campers to come when we called and ask if she would've been honest we would have chosen a different camping spot the small kids were miserable there wasnt anything that she said or advertised. Theres more i was absolutely annoyed with but thats the majority. Definitely would not recommend would encourage people to avoid it and spend less money and camp at a state park.

I am truly sorry that you feel you were lied to. #1 there has never been a shower or anything of the sort and I don't advertise a shower on the site, there is a stream unfortunately I cannot control the amount of rain that comes out of a sky therefore I can't guarantee that the waterfalls will be the picturesque waterfalls all year every year. The drout we are in the middle of is one of the worst I've ever seen. So yes the gorge and waterfall I can see how that would be a huge disappointment. But as for the showers, it says on my ad on hipcamp that there aren't showers that it's just the streams. #2 when you arrived and I pointed out what poison ivy looks like that was only for your benefit poison ivy grows wild all over New York State. I was just showing you what it looks like so that you wouldn't walk through it. I'm sorry that there's poison ivy on my property. It's not everywhere and I keep everything mowed down very short so that there are plenty of places for you to be and walk that do not include any poison ivy poison prickers Etc #3 yes I believe that it only took you a couple minutes to walk all the trails it is a small piece of property 15 acres is not as big as most people can get it. Plus the very top by Baker's I don't really allow the Camper's to walk through that's my own personal living space where I have my house then my outbuildings to store my personal property. So the bottom 10 acres are really all that the trails are through and I can see how it would only take 10 minutes or so if you are young and athletic be able to walk all of those. I'm sorry it was not more enjoyable for you #4 hanging a hammock it's something that I allow everywhere on the property just not attached to my heirloom apple tree. I showed you which ones were the apple trees and told you that you could hang a hammock anywhere else that you can find trees The Proposal together. You stated that your hammock wouldn't stretch between those two trees and I offered you broke. Would you declined. I'm really sorry, but I don't really know what else I could have done to try to make you happy with your stay there. #5 you brought more people with you then you had a reservation for. So I charge you an extra $10 for three night stay for an extra four people total. I didn't feel like that was an astronomical amount. It was an extra 4 people for three nights for ten bucks And lastly I had no idea whatsoever that they were going to charge you a cancellation fee. I do not charge cancellation fees. I do not get that money. That is his Camp. I did not charge a cancellation fee I'm sorry that they did. If you would have brought any of these issues to my attention or that you weren't satisfied or that you would like a different spot or that you wanted me to come down with the weed wacker and and whack out for more Trails for you I would have gladly done any of those things I want your stay to be enjoyable. And I am deeply sorry that it was not. I told you when you arrived that when you were done for the weekend to please leave a review and of course that my goal is to get a good review. And that if you didn't feel you could leave a good review to please bring anything to my attention that I could fix for you so that you could leave a good review. And you said oh yeah if we have any issues will come to you. I'm really sorry that you didn't feel like you can talk to me about these things. I really am trying the best that I can and the best that I know how. To make this camping experience Pleasant for everybody here. I don't know what I'm doing I've never had a campground I've never had people rent space on my property. I'm learning as I go. And all I can say is I'm sorry that you did not have the experience I was hoping you could have.
