A magic camp site surrounded by mother nature. A hiking trail begins directly on the property and leads through miles of NYC environmental protected land forests and meadows passing a beautiful hidden swim pond with stunning views 3 minutes from the campsite.

This comfortable 10 x 12 canvas tent includes a queen size bed with an air mattress and a wood burning fire stove. The campsite includes a picnic table, a fire pit with a grill, solar shower and a compost toilet.

The Tremperskill Country convenience store, is 8 minutes away, with home made sandwiches, baking, fishing supplies, gas, books and beer. The central village of Andes is just a 15 minute drive and has a liquor store ( wild common wine ) for curbside delivery. Margaretville is 25 minutes to the east on Route 30, providing a supermarket and cvs. The camp site is 2.45 hours from the GWB.

What to bring :

We don't provide bedding, please bring your own sheets, pillows and warm sleeping bags, nights can get cold up here. There are 2 small solar lights in the tent but best is to bring your own flash lights.Bring a cooler, ice can be purchased at the Tremperskill convenient store. Please bring a mask for each person, shopping without a mask puts everyone at risk. We don’t provide cooking equipment and dishes, but there is a grill on the fire pit and an extra charcoal grill. There is a hand pump for the air mattress available and a battery operated pump ( which works great )  best is to bring D4 batteries. We don’t provide cut bundles of firewood but  there’s a saw in the tent which you’re welcome to use to cut any downed wood lying on the ground. A big wind storm knocked down many branches last year.  If you prefer, you can purchase cut firewood at our convenience store.

This was a great camping site! The host made sure the site was well prepared and sent important information as my booking date got closer. The pond was also pretty cool if you are looking for a nice place to to swim. It does get colder at night so I would plan to carry blankets that can keep you warm!

Definitely a great spot to relax and kick back. Tent was a great set up. Wood heater worked great. Pond was a good size. Overall an excellent experience.

We had a great stay! Nice clean site and adjacent to public land for exploring. We were able to see the owner's house from the site but in the summer with the leaves grown in you would not be able to. Other than greeting us, the owners left us to ourselves. The site is a little bit of a trek up / down hill from where you park so just keep that in mind when packing the kitchen sink. We were provided a little wheelbarrow cart which helped.

Great campsite, very private and well kept. It got pretty cold but there is a wood burning fire stove that gets the tent pretty warm. The area is beautiful and I highly recommend!

This site was very private and peaceful. It is tucked away from the main house and you have full privacy. The hosts were wonderful and checked to make sure we had everything we needed. The tent was beautiful and we could hear the wildlife in the distance at night. The pond has a gorgeous view and it was truly a great place to escape for a few nights

The site was beautiful but Mother Nature had plans to cut our visit short. We had some heavy rain and got a few leaks - to be expected with a canvas tent and an easy fix (wax on the seams). Don’t over pack you don’t need a lot, we made this mistake. The pond is a don’t miss item. The air mattress is very comfortable. If you go you will enjoy yourself.

My partner and I had a wonderful time at Mark's campsite in upstate NY. The space was beautiful and private, and came equipped with everything we needed (solar showers, compost toilet, firewood, water, folding chairs, etc.). We especially loved sitting on the deck in the Adirondack chairs. There was also plenty of wildlife!

A quiet little slice of upstate new york. Just the right balance of wilderness and seclusion, Country Life is a nice place to "get some fresh air". Over our five-day stay, we found the hosts to be friendly & accommodating, as well as extremely respectful of our privacy. The tent & provided facilities were clean and in acceptable condition. The terrain in the area is rugged and certainly not for the faint hearted, but you are rewarded with pristine views and abundant wildlife. A recommended getaway for a couple or small group looking to "disconnect" and enjoy nature !

My friend and I, both fairly novice campers, stayed at Country Life for a long weekend and had a fantastic time. The site is well-kept and beautiful, surrounded by trees and wildflowers. The amenities (solar shower, campfire, compost toilet) were exactly as described and allowed us to enjoy a rustic but comfortable few days. The tent is sturdy and comfortable. We met the host in passing, who was very friendly and helpful. If you want to rest and enjoy the outdoors in a tranquil, private spot, this is the place to be.
