About Buttermilk Falls State Park

Beautiful waterfalls in New York you say? Buttermilk Falls State Park in Ithaca has several. The parks namesake, “Buttermilk Falls”, cascades close to 600 feet into a swimming hole that will both soak and spoil you! And when the water gets a bit too cold for your liking, you can slap yer hiking shoes back on and continue up the steep (but only 3/4 mile) trail that follows the creek. The creek has spent the last couple million years cutting out a gorge that also includes tours during the summer months. There is no shortage of things to do and spending either a weekend or a week is an adventurous and worthwhile trip.
