This isn't exactly primitive. 1/4 mile trek. Other than that - you are alone, surrounded by hundreds of acres of private, wild forest.

We absolutely loved our three-night stay at this utterly charming camp! With our backpacking days behind us, Hemlock Camp was the perfect combination of comfort and 'roughing it' for us. The tent is quite large and we could easily have slept more people inside; the bed was extremely comfortable after a long day climbing peaks, and the outdoor area is well set-up for outdoor cooking and hanging out by the campfire. We appreciated the thoughtful touches like cooking and eating ware, tiki torches for outdoor lighting, electric lanterns for inside the tent, and a screen tent over the picnic table. The surrounding area is extremely quiet and the only sound we heard at night was the wind sighing in the trees. We hope to come back again, and hopefully will have more time (and energy!) to explore the pond and extensive trails on Margarete's land. I highly recommend Hemlock Camp as a base for your Adirondack adventures!
Camp Hemlock was great! Beautiful property, well kept. We loved every minute of it. The tent is amazing, the kitchen is well equipped, the outhouse was private and the cleanest I have ever used, the pond was refreshing and the canoe was fun. The walk from the car is not bad. Sven and Margarete were very helpful and communication was excellent!
Beautiful location and comfortable tent, even with days of chilly rain!
In a word, awesome! Everything was great. The shelter was perfect, outside wss beautiful. Couldnt have asked for more.
I can't wait to go when it's much warmer out. But other than that. I loved it, I'd live there if I could. Thanks!
