This property is in Northangera with the Mongarlowe River running along the boundary. It's covered in trees and provides a pristine environment amongst the "Scribbly Gums". It has flat areas with plenty of free timber for the designated fire pits. I have tried to create a haven for wildlife including Kangaroos, wombats, echidnas and platypus. I cherish the cleanliness of the river and surrounds and wish to be able to share this special environment with others who care to preserve all it offers. You can explore the property along the tracks, paddle, swim or fish in the river, enjoy the fauna, wildlife and birdlife. Located not far from Braidwood, a town steeped in history, with good shopping, coffee shops and great food. Sloping to flat land amongst the Scribbly Gum trees offering a number of sites and walks through the property. It provides both sun and shade. Access is good for vans of any size along a track through the bushland. Lovely swimming spots in the Mongalowe River, beautiful clear water, and several lovely bushwalks around the property. There is only Telstra reception available in this area. We offer 7 different sites and the maximum stay is 7 nights.

Gumnut is a site sitting on top of the Eastern Ridge with views to the Budawangs and getting the morning and late evening sun. It is flat and sheltered with trees. It is in a secluded spot and is the first campsite on your right as you drive down the Eastern Ridge camping track. It is suitable for caravans, motorhomes, campervans and tents.

A unique secluded shack on the Mongarlowe River. Beautiful swimming hole and firepit. Inside is a warm slow combustion wood heater for those chilly winter nights. Adequate firewood is provided for the heater.  Downstairs is a double bed and on the mezzanine level, there is a double bed mattress on the floor and two single bed mattresses the floor (for kids). Sleeps 6 at a pinch but very comfortable for 2 to 4.  A thunder downunder toilet is available in the "loo with a view". Basic cooking facilities are provided including a one burner gas cooker, cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils and pots and pans. BYO linen, doona, sleeping bags, pillows etc. Totally off the grid, bring your own cleaning gear, camp lights or torches and refrigeration. Adequate solar lighting is installed. No refrigeration is provided. Limited to max of 6 people.

The Pumpkin Patch
We loved our stay at Scribbly Gum! It was a hot few days but swimming in the river was fantastic. Staying in the Pumpkin caravan was great- it was very clean and was a very relaxing stay. Phil was a fantastic host - he was available and on site to address any queries when needed.

We absolutely loved our time at scribbly gum! We stayed at site 4. The scenery was beautiful, river not to far from camp wildlife all around even a little wombat came out to visit regularly 😍 Phil & family were amazing hosts nice friendly and even willing to lend a swag as the tent was broke 😅

We had a lovely stay at Gumnut! Beautiful views, very private and loved the campfire. The only slight drawback was the ground was quite rocky which made it difficult to put tent pegs in, so would recommend bringing a little trowel to help dig a spot to put them. Otherwise a fantastic trip.

Quiet, private and surrounded by bushland. The river was accessible easily. We were fortunate to grab the last one of only 5 sites during the busy post-Xmas period. Loved staying here! Highly recommend if you love simple secluded bush camping.

Phil was very friendly, welcoming, kind and hospitable. The bush camping was great. Beautiful scenery and bushland. The river was really nice. It has a rocky bottom so rock booties would have been helpful. The walk to the river was nice. Great campfire set up. The gumnut site was private and mostly quite peaceful. The kids enjoyed riding their bikes on the track. I would definitely recommend Phil’s campsites.

Lovely spot and The Pumpkin Patch was so well set up. We loved cooking on the outdoor fireplace and relaxing in the hammock.

River Shack
We had the most fantastic time at the River Shack! It was so relaxing and beautiful. I saw a platypus & a water dragon. The shack is rustic and comfortable, and it has everything you need. It was a wonderful getaway.

Love the Shack, the inside and outside of the Shack is clean and tidy. The property is very near the river and my 2 sons enjoyed swimming and fishing in the river. The Shack have a fireplace inside for cold nights. The environment is very quite and serene. Very relaxing place to camp.

We had such a lovely quiet time. It was the perfect spot to try out camping for the first time as a family. The dog did zoomies around the camp site, the kids went “adventuring” in loops around the sites, and we relaxed and stoked the fire. Brilliant.

Overall disappointed, hard to locate site with no directions, photos are misleading, over priced considering dual river camp site is $6 a night and had a lot better amenities and lots closer to water. Host didn't respond promptly and didn'’’t warn us about the ants nests we had all over our camp site 4 which made it incapable for us to stay as we were getting bitten.

Loved camping at this property! Camping spots were secluded with plenty of space to ourselves. Easy to find from the main road and lots to explore in the area including the local creek/river. Phil was very hospitable and ensured we had everything we needed for the night!

Loved the seclusion, birdlife, walking down to the shack with a bottle of wine to watch the platypus feeding. Stargazing was amazing. Nice that Phil greeted us on arrival. Can be tight in places for large vans and make sure you have your fly repellent. Great experience.

We loved our night at Gumnut. So quiet and natural. Proper rural peace, watched platypus frolic in the river in the morning. Wished we could have stayed longer! Access fine in a motorhome.

This was a beautiful site, all only a short walk to the river, private, and nice for an easy weekend as not so far out of town. Stayed on a site with no facilities etc which was great. Saw that they have other options too, the set up caravan looked great. Thanks!

My partner and l loved camping at Scribbly Gum! The host Phil was friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome. We felt immersed in nature, surrounded by trees and wildlife, and the Mongarlowe river was beautiful. We will definitely be coming back!

The Shack

The Shack provided us with the perfect long weekend retreat. Phil has set up the Shack with a cooker, chairs, table, comfortable beds and cooking utensils. The view to the river is beautiful and we enjoyed a refreshing swim and paddle board. We loved the indoor and outdoor fire - plenty of firewood provided! The best part - total peace and quiet! We didn’t see anyone else on the property! Thanks Phil - we would love to come back!
