Welcome to this remote piece of paradise! Rhapsody is located in Gingkin,, which is not far from Oberon NSW, about 3 hours west of Sydney. Campsites are hidden in a remote valley direct frontage to the pristine Hollanders River, adjoining the Kanangra-Boyd National Park. There are two private campsites on grassy river flats surrounded by eucalyptus forest. The sites are very secluded so you will see lots of wildlife and you're guaranteed not to see any other people! Only one group can stay at each campsite and campsites are on different parts of the river so privacy is guaranteed. In dry conditions 2WD is fine for Wallaby flat but in wet weather, 4WD is required. Platypus flat is 4wd only. You can always park at the top of the hill and walk down first if you're not sure. Dog friendly. Campfires permitted in a designated area when restrictions aren't in place. Gather your own wood from fallen timber on the way in or BYO wood. Not much firewood available on site. Both campsites can get quite cool as they are low in the valley. This is a wild and remote area. Guided remote bushwalks also available for those who are fit and adventurous. Both campsites have a pit toilets, cold shower, spring water on tap, picnic tables.. Water is sourced from a distant spring in the mountain and is gravity fed to the site by above ground pipe which heats the water during the day. There is a small area where you can get Telstra mobile reception at the cattle grid on the way into the property, but very limited mobile reception in this area. If you are on Optus or other networks you won't get any reception. There is no mobile reception at camp - perfect for disconnecting and reconnecting with nature!

Platypus Flat
Great Spot!
Great spot. Very quiet and relaxing. Host was awesome and very easy to contact. 100% recommend and will be back. Had no trouble finding the property but definitely read up on the directions before leaving.

Wallaby Flat
Great spot to camp with a beautiful flat camp area and plenty of swimming holes to cool off in. Dogs had a great time too.

Platypus Flat
Another wonderful stay at Platypus Flat. The kind of remote camping i always dream of. The stream is refreshing for a swim on a hot summer day and the stars at night are incredible. Can't wait to be back! 4x4 is a must!

Wallaby Flat
It was a really nice location. However, you pay a good premium for the luxury of having a shower and toilets at a private location and disappointingly, Danny messaged me the night before saying the water pipe had burst for the shower and he was away and wouldn't be able to fix it, simply saying "sorry mate". When I asked for compensation given we would no longer have this amenity which was a major reason for our choice and I had to race around the day I was leaving to organise a camp shower and 12v pump, he told me I could just fix the pipe myself (I was not able to get the required part the first night so we had to shower in the stream). After a lot of hassle I was able to sort out a shower the next day but then after the 2nd night the water supply just stopped. After a lot more hassle trying to investigate the cause, I could not get water restored to the site and other than giving suggestions as to where the problem might be/things I could try to fix it, Danny did not offer a solution or even offer to get someone around to look into it. So, for what should have been a relaxing weekend camping, much time was spent trying to organise a shower. As a side note, the 'privacy screens for the shower is completely see through and offers no privacy. On top of this, the toilet seats had excrement on them. I would recommend not relying on having the amenities if you're booking at this site and not booking here if the major reason is for the amenities.

Wallaby Flat
Awesome site. Very spacious and right on the river. Our dogs loved the freedom and price of mind knowing it’s all fenced off. The tap and sink are very handy and cold shower is just an added bonus. Can’t wait to come back.

Wallaby Flat
Wallaby Flat was a wonderful spot for a long weekend with friends. It was great having the place to ourselves and the dogs loved the river. It was also amazing having a break from technology as there's no phone reception (definitely a positive). Hopefully we'll be back soon!
