Centrally located between Nimbin and Murwillumbah in the small town of Kunghur NSW, is the Misty Mountain Campground where you’ll see the morning mist roll in, then clear to reveal spectacular days! The peace and tranquillity and spectacular scenery make this the ideal place to relax and unwind or the perfect spot to base yourself while you explore everything the Tweed Shire and the Northern Rivers Region has to offer. WE ONLY HAVE LIMITED POWERED SITES. PLEASE REQUEST A POWERED SITE BEFORE BOOKING SO WE CAN LET YOU KNOW IF THERE IS ONE AVAILABLE- powered sites will incur a $5.00 per night per site fee paid in CASH on arrival. Misty Mountain Campgrounds is suitable for tent campers, caravans, motorhomes and big rigs. PLEASE NOTE - Children aged between 3 and 15 are booked under Child Rates, Children 2 and under are Free and do not have to be booked in. Hundred Tents Campgrounds is also available for General Camping during Easter and the Xmas break and Public Holiday WeekendsWelcome to Misty Mountain Campgrounds and 100 Tents Campgrounds Centrally located between Nimbin and Murwillumbah in the small town of Kunghur NSW, is the Misty Mountain Campground where you’ll see the morning mist roll in, then clear to reveal spectacular days! The peace and tranquillity and spectacular scenery makes this the ideal place to relax and unwind or the perfect spot to base yourself while you explore everything the Tweed Shire and the Northern Rivers Region has to offer.  Misty Mountain is suitable for tent campers, caravans and motorhomes. We only have limited powered sites-PLEASE REQUEST POWERED SITE BEFORE BOOKING- powered sites $5 per night per site (paid with cash on arrival). Please book Children aged 3-15 years of age under Child Bookings. Children under 3 do not have to book as they are Free.  There are 4 Main Camp Areas to choose from - yes that's right you get to pick your own camping spot. We have a Central Amenities( 4 hot showers and 4 flushing toilets) located above the Games Room and Camp Kitchen near Camp 1. Camp areas 2, 3 and 4 also have 1 hot shower and 1 compositing toilet. There is tar-sealed road to most camping areas however if driving a 2WD please be careful where you park your car on your grass camping spot when there is rain. Once you have made your booking please let us know what kind of vehicle you have and if you are bringing a caravan or camper trailer. Camp Area 1 with access to power and 1 minute walk to Central Amenities and Games Room can be RESERVED for groups of 25-50. It has its own 10m x 5m permanent shelter- perfect for drizzly weekends or protection from the sun on those hot summer days. The shelter can be reserved for smaller groups however you don't get exclusive use of the whole Camp area. Call 0455416037 for more details. 100 Tents Campground. Only available for General Camping during Long Weekends and the Xmas period from 22nd December to the 8th of January This Private Campground is next door to Misty Mountain and is called 100 Tents. This Campground is for Group Camping Events- from 30 to 300 people. You get exclusive use of this area. It includes an Amenities Block- Games Room with speakers and mixing desk, Pool Table, Table Tennis - Camp Kitchen - 3 small dorm rooms(sleeps 10) - 2 Marquees and has access to the Tweed River. We also can hire out the use of a Fully Functional Commercial Kitchen which is on-site. Spectacular views. Clean and well equipped. Staff friendly and accommodating. Stayed over Easter Weekend, busy but not over packed. Would stay again.

Easter Getaway
What a last minute Easter find! We never expected to have so much space at a peak period and the views were stunning. The hosts were super friendly, our kids loved the Easter egg hunt and games in the rec area. We even got out on the dam for a kayak too. We will be back!

Great Spot for family and dog!
Misty Mountain was great. Several camping sites for about a dozen tented spots and a good amount of space in-between other campers. Some have permanent sheltered roofs (pergolas) you can ask for as well as your own firepit. We stayed at Site 1 with power, a nearby water tap and close to the toilets/showers and the game room/cafe. Hot water showers and flushing toilets...beauty! All sites sit on grassy, well drainage turf with Site 4 closer to the fishing and swimming dam. Swimming was good, a bit muddy but water was fairly clean. Roads were good and saw several 2 wheel drive manage well enough. 2 potential water crossings. Peter and site manager were great. Met us after we settled in and gave us great tips. More importantly they helped us and others when the bridge was flooded (got 50 mm rain overnight) and we were trying to leave. Communicated throughout and went above and beyond to help my parents cross when water receded. They let 4x4 vehicles use a private off road track to cross at another part of the station. All up, great facilities and helpful owner. Definitely recommend.

Very disappointing never again
Unfortunately the photos in the website are very misleading, with not many flat areas to accommodate for cars, caravans, tents room between campers, there is always more than 1 car with campers so again add several cars to everything mentioned before it became so overcrowded we struggled to finally locate a small tiny area on a slant (extremely muddy due to the downpour but had no choice) the overall site was packed like sardines, couldn't even manoeuvre thru the small access tracks, the signage was so unorganised and unclear which site was full to avoid the congestion of big 4WDs and their caravans trying to reverse to give way to incoming cars who would have to reverse or turn around after realising there was no space left, toilets and showers were a joke a tiny 1 person timber cabin out in the open next to access tracks no privacy, shocking value for money, we paid for 2 nights 3 days but left after 1st night...definitely will never recommend 👎

Campsite 4
We stayed on campsite 4 for 3 days and it was beautiful. All the campers were so lovely and the owners were so nice and helpful. Facilities are great lots to do and to use, amenities were also well looked after. Lots of rain on the last 2 days but everyone was super helpful and adaptive. Was overall a really good stay with no problems at all would definitely recommend and go back, nothing was disappointing at all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
