Balcraggon Camping is a serene getaway “far from the madding crowd”. We are a perfect stopover in a peaceful rural setting. Rest, rejuvenate, relax and unwind. There are two power and water towers catering for up to 8 sites with plenty of unpowered sites available. Leafy surrounds, with a heated 25 metre lap pool and children's adventure play equipment. A covered games room provides access to table tennis, pool and air hockey. Bathroom and laundry facilities are available with an accessible dump point on the property. Located in rural Stockinbingal on the Burley Griffin Way, central to 4 country towns - Cootamundra, Temora, Young, Junee and Wagga Wagga. Stockinbingal is a small historic railway village of 244 people situated on the Burley Griffin Way, off the Hume Highway. We are located in Cambria Street 800 metres off the Burley Griffin Way. We are pet friendly, with toilet and hot shower available with external access, laundry and good access for all types of vehicles, including large motor homes. Campfires are OK when permitted, firewood supplied. Drinking water available.

    James & Roz were great hosts friendly and helpful. Stockinbingal is very handy for day trips to Cootamundra, Young among others. Bowling club is open for tea later in week & is an easy stroll as is the cafe which has great coffee. A 30 metre lap pool is great for those hot days. We had the please of setting up besides their 2 young Pygmy goats who love humans. Chooks for fresh eggs. Thanks James & Roz lovely 4 days relaxing.

    I was very happy staying there & I used the site as a base for exploring surrounding towns like Young, Wombat, Temora, Cootamundra all of which were an easy drive from Stockinbingal. James & Ros were amazing hosts & I enjoyed James calling in each day to check that I was happy. And as for Ros, what a gorgeous lady who brought me their farm fresh eggs each day. Good value for money & I didn’t want to leave. My last day was a surprise with a local man Russell turning up & giving me a free ride around the village of Stockinbingal in his wagon with two beautiful Clydesdale horses. What a thrill for this little city girl. Thank you so much everyone for the welcome.

    Speaking as a host myself, Balcraggon is not your wild getaway. It is a small property that is an ideal place to set up camp and explore the district - towns like Temora with an amazing rural museum and the Licorice factory in Junee. Also, this is great for kids with a pool and heaps of entertainment.

    The stay was really relaxing, and the grounds were nicer than expected. A real little gem.

    Nice little spot on the trip up north. James the owner was very helpful and assisted in selecting a spot as there was not to many other travelers due to the virus. Thanks for the site.
