Creature comforts
Enjoy the comforts of home—including flush toilets, showers, and a kitchen.
Locals consider this property one of the best secrets of the valley. The main house is an old adobe built sometime in the '30s, added on to over the years. Joe Augustine raised his family as well as race horses here and it is often referred as the old Augustine place. Things I love about this place; a landscape in every direction, all the mountains that create the Mesilla Valley are visible, the way the light changes, the sound of the train, how quiet and peaceful it is, watching the crops grow and change, the very dark nights. It is an amazingly healing space to be, it kinda sucks the hustle right out of you allowing space for expansion.  Come be still and listen. Access to the river and mountains is easy, day trips abound, and town is close enough but not too close. Ask me about an Artist Retreat beginner or masterclasses available Learn more about this land: Welcome to dark star filled nights and birdsong days. This is your Gateway to all that southern new Mexico has to offer and it's a lot! Your Casita is a very well appointed two bedroom two bathroom, full kitchen, dining area and living room. All with a retro/boho feel, mid century modern meets vintage finds.  The vistas are always enchanting and can be enjoyed from either of the covered porches, or out by the stock tank pond, you will have a front row seat to the Dona Ana and Organ Mountains, and probably a couple of exotic horses grazing in the pasture, just because! We have Parks, Monuments, public lands all for the hikers, foodies will delight in the many restaurants, food trucks, brew pubs and distilleries. Arts and culture abound also with a variety of museums, art galleries, theater and fiestas. And yet the farm feels remote, a slice of solitude, it is the perfect gateway to the world and the perfect place to come home to.

Gateway Casita
We loved our stay at the Gateway Casita. Milette was a great host who provided everything we needed right down to great recommendations on what to check out and clear directions. Bonus points for the detailed attention to the vintage decor inside the Casita. A beautiful and peaceful place to relax after a day of exploring all southern New Mexico has to offer. We’d definitely go back.

Tres Caballos Casita
Great stay! It was our first time in Las Cruces, and we really enjoyed our stay. Las Cruces seems like a clean town, and this place is on a farm near orchards, just outside of town. The casita had a full kitchen, covered patio, and it was fun to see the chickens and horses! We even got to eat some fresh eggs. I would recommend Milette’s place to anyone staying in the area.

Hot, peaceful, farm living
Great patio spaces, shade and sun- and a nice pond to sit in the sun by. Very comfortable, spacious bedroom. Long roads to walk on. Good thunder storm. I like Milette’s rocks and sculptures. And generous with snacks and coffee

A great escape
This place gives you space, peace and quiet. It lets you greet a morning with a cup of coffee or tea and see stars like most don’t get to experience. You can easily take off to hiking areas, hot springs, or restaurants but the place also has everything you need.
