The camp site was very clean on arrival and the scenery was just amazing When we arrived there was a little band playing and I believe they had tacos for everyone .Being next to the river was awesome my son got to fish and I got some good photo shots .Our host Royce was very friendly and helpful. I will be going back to this campground in the summer .I recommend it to campers who like there personal space but the option also to interact with others .

This place was exactly what we were looking for. We camped right by the stream that had a lot of shade to sit under. The showers and bathrooms were clean and upgraded. It was as if you were in a cabin! They also have a place where you can cook, put food in their refrigerator and plenty of tables to eat and play games on. They also have wood for sale and a convenient store close by if you forget anything. We definitely will be going back!

The host didn't wear a mask. When I asked her where her mask is, she said it is fine as long as I am wearing one. I had to ask her to keep a distance from me. Didn't feel safe to be greeted that way. The site is exposed to other campers and a family flying a drone right by me. Not my style.

A gorgeous mountain campsite! Everyone was very friendly. The restrooms were by far the best I’ve seen at a campground.

My sister and I arrived at pretty late at 9 pm and the office was closed. So, we pitched our tent and covered it with a tarp (to protect from the rain). The rain was so intense that it brought howling winds with cool air. While my sister was asleep in the tent, she felt a bear sniffing (breathing) around her neck. We ended up leaving the campsite at about 2 am to find a motel since the weather was so bad and my sister was spooked by her encounter with the bear. I didn't get a chance to meet with the host, however, we communicated through Hipcamp and he was very nice and answered all of my questions. Also, I talked to the manager of the campsite and she was very kind and understanding. The campsite is a mixture between an RV park with some tent space. It's good to be around other people when you're in an unfamiliar area. There's a restroom onsite and other amenities. However, even though I have Verizon cellular service, I wasn't able to get a signal in the area. Though, once I was in the town of Cloudcroft, I had good reception.

I’m really sorry to leave a bad review but I seriously was never so disgusted with a campsite in my entire life and I’ve camped regularly since I was a kid. Every meter square was covered with cat poo (I think the manager or the owner are the ones who keep the cats there and don’t clean up after them at all) , an probably a decent amount of everybody else’s (guests?) pets’ poos. I can’t describe how disgusting it was to have to scrape it off the tent in the morning (we had to set up with very little light cause we got there after sunset). That itself is enough for the rating to be this low (who would have the audacity to charge people for camping in a cat litter???) but the campsite in general is not very nice. Campsites are very very close to each other, the pictures on website don’t look anything like the actual thing, oh and we got there about 10 minutes after the time we told them originally (we also mentioned we were driving from far away so it was more of an estimate) and there was nobody in the office to let us in, we kept buzzing the door but nothing. Eventually we found some other campers who were out and they were kind enough to give us the WiFi password (we had no service at all there) and direct us to where in the campsite the manager was residing in one of the campers.

The owner Royce is a great guy and we enjoyed our stay in his campsite. It’s a mix of RV and tent spots, and there are bathrooms (heated) with showers on site which were kept clean. Handsoap, tp and paper towels provided. I think there is a laundry site too, as well as firewood. We tent camped directly next to a tiny “river” creek so we felt comfortable enough to build a fire because we were able to scoop up water from it to put out the fire before we crashed. There are a couple of tent sites that are set apart from the main tent campsite but the rest are kinda close to each other next to the water. There is a stage on property and he had live music that weekend as a fundraiser for Lincoln National Forest (which is beautiful by the way). There is a covered pavilion with a sink and stove and tables to eat at. We enjoyed our morning coffee there everyday. Ice is available BUT Mayhill and Cloudcroft are the closest towns which have stores BUT there is NOT a full grocery store in either town so if you plan to cook....bring your food...prepare ahead of time or else you might end up at the Cloudcroft BBQ restaurant which was pretty badass so no complaints here. There are tons of hiking trails near by....The Rim Trail outside of Cloudcroft is legit. One more thing.... this part of NM is high elevation so be ready for that. It’s hard to breate sometimes if you’re not used to it. Also, Carlsbad gets hot as balls, but the Lincoln National Forest does not. It’s mid May and it got down in the 50’s and even 40’s at night so bring warm sleep clothes. The day time warmed up to 70 and was perfect weather. Thank you Royce! We’ll be back!
