"The Little Goat Outpost" is located off a Forest Service Road in the small rural village of Tres Piedras (Spanish for "Three Rocks"), NM. Our lovely 2 acres sits at 8,100' in treed, high desert terrain with sweeping views of the Sangre de Cristos mountains.
From the designated camp spot you will have epic views of the large boulders just 2 lots away, as well as the magical Northern New Mexico sunsets. Your camp spot is surrounded by beautiful pines, pinons, scrub oak, and sage brush, as well as a smaller boulder located on our property. This little alcove is on soft, level ground, and provides natural privacy for your camping. During the camp season, 2 hammock chairs hang near the campsite alcove for your use! There is also a yoga platform available near the campsite, perfect for doing your morning stretches in the sun!
On the property you will have access to interaction with 2 pet Nigerian Dwarf goats, "John Waters" and "David Lynch." They will keep you entertained throughout your stay with their goaty antics! They love to play fight with humans, as well as give air kisses, and receive scratchies, pets, and treats. Around sunset each day we take an evening stroll with the goats, and you are welcome to join along!
Available for your use is a "luggable loo" and/or a makeshift tarp-teepee outhouse — your preference. Please note that our home is conveniently located not far off of the major N/S roadway, 285. We pay for this luxury with some audible road noise.
If you're craving a fresh cooked meal, the historic Chili Line Depot restaurant is located just 5 minutes down the road. They serve up a mean New Mexican/American dish! Get a pizza for takeout and eat in front of the small fire pit (weather permitting) at your campsite! Please note that the Chili Line closes at 7pm, so don't dally!

Tanya is such an amazing host and went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and comfortable. The experience and privilege of being at her space was such a treat! The goats are such an added bonus! The stay was above and beyond what I ever could have expected!
Tanya was an amazing host! We had some great conversations around the fire. Overall a nice place to camp with cool trails nearby. John and David (her two lovely goats) are sweet and cuddly. Would highly recommend!
Super cute little farm, Tanya was a great host and so nice to us during our stay. Sunset walks with her, Daisy, and the goats are definitely a great way to end the night. We also decided to go get pizza at the Chili Line Depot up the street and were charmed by the small town diner feel. My partner and I had such a great experience here we're already planning on coming back soon!
Tanya is by far one of the best hosts I've ever had the pleasure of meeting on any of my trips! Even before we officially met, she was sweet enough to give me detailed recommendations and made sure to answer all of my questions. The property itself is gorgeous and has just the right amount of seclusion. My best friend and I felt completely safe, welcomed, and at home after meeting Tanya and her animals! The two goats are SO much fun and Daisy the dog kept us company until we fell asleep. It really felt like we had rented a dog with our stay -in the best way!! Can't wait to come back for my next stay!

Thank you Natalie, it was so fun hosting you and Kat at our property! I hope you guys can come back again soon (maybe when the snow melts, lol!), and maybe I'll have some mustard next time 😆 Stay safe! - Tanya, John + David the Goats, and Daisy the Rescue Doggie
