The Space The tipi available is located on our 3 acre sustainable living project. We are a family of 5 who also live on the property you will be staying on. The property is 2 miles away from downtown Taos, so you will experience a rural housing situation, a very quick drive from the hustle and bustle of town! The tipi can sleep up to 6 comfortably, although we only provide 1 queen sized bed for visitors , there is a floor canvas between the ground and the floor, so if you have a sleeping bag pad that is usually comfortable enough. No electricity. No plumbing. No refrigeration. There is fresh well water available from our hand pumped well. The solar shower bag and bucket composting toilet system are rustic. There is a community outdoor kitchen that you are welcome to use the Coleman stove in. A calm and serene sleeping experience. Guest Access You are welcome to use any part of our 3 acres, we live on the land as well, in a yurt and converted school bus. This is part of a larger vision of a sustainable living project, and Machei (the husband) is happy to share information about gardening and sustainable living. You are always welcome to pitch in with tree care, watering or any other chores being done ;)

Wild Horse Teepee
Our first tee pee experience was great fun! The site is rustic as described; it’s not the Hilton, but that’s what makes it unique! We had lots of room (two of us) to spread out in the space for cooking and sleeping, and we were comfortable and cozy in our sleeping bags all night long. The well water tasted great, and we enjoyed learning of plans for the orchard! My Google map did re-route me, so if you’re coming in from out of town be sure to clarify road names to avoid getting lost.
