Definitely stay here. This was my first time using HipCamp and due to Covid most campsites are closed so I figured I would give it a try. We picked this site for the location to Albuquerque and from the main highway. We arrived and drove to the back lot which has a huge built in fireplace and stacks of wood for burning. We didn’t get to burn because the wind, but if you can - do it! There is also a nice covered area with a swing and table to eat dinner and breakfast. We would definitely stay again.

This is the campsite. Right under the camera which you can’t see is the fire pit.

This was a last minute booking when I decided to forgo trying to find some BLM camping. This made it so much easier and I felt safer as a solo traveler. I just pulled up and parked behind a nice tree which made me feel secluded. I cat camped in my Jeep. It was way too windy for a fire but there was a great set up with a grill, table, and swing that the host was happy to let me use to cook dinner. This patio was shielded from the wind too. It was so quiet at night. The hosts were very nice and just left me be but made themselves available if needed.

Everything about our stay at Star Gazer Ranch was magical. If you're driving through New Mexico, or simply looking for a place to enjoy your stay outside Albuquerque, you can't go wrong here. We are not experienced campers, but wanted the feeling of pitching our tent and enjoying the New Mexico starry night. Jeanie provided the perfect place for this. You pitch your tent just behind their beautiful home far enough off the main highway to enjoy silence, starlight, and a perfect desert ambiance. We found this place easy to find, perfect for our needs (a one night stay with a fun feel, a campsite, and nowhere near society), and hosted by fantastic folks that were welcoming but gave us all the privacy we wanted. Sunset was GORGEOUS. Starlight was WONDERFUL. We would absolutely tent down here again. If you're looking for a place to pitch your tent while you head West, you found it.

Beautiful and large space in front of a lovely courtyard of the home! There was a great pavilion area with tons of seating, however I got there late at night and mainly just stargazed outside of my van. I would definitely stay here again if I were in the area! Lovely place!

Beautiful property, we had a 16ft moving truck with a car tow and were able to park/get out easily. The hosts were very accommodating and helpful, they also had an adorable dog. We comfortably tent camped near the fire pit. Would stay again. The stars were beautiful!

This site was very spacious with a huge fire pit and the views of the sunset and stars was perfect. The host, Jeanie, was very welcoming, hospitable and even let us use some of her wood for the fire. I would recommend staying here.

The hosts are so sweet, so amazing! We had a wonderful stay here. With covid and everything going on it took us so long to find a campsite that was reasonably priced. Cute dogs too! They let us use there awesome grill under the cute outside patio with wind chimes and beautiful views. We definitely will be back!
