Pitch your tent on a cleared and mostly level camping area surrounded by sage, juniper, and pine trees. You'll hear the coyotes calling from directly behind you on the hilltop, or pushing past your tent in the night. Our family's campers and kitchen tent are just a short walk up the hill from your designated camping area, but still far enough away that you'll have plenty of privacy.
No running water, no electricity, and limited cell coverage, so come prepared with plenty of water, and lanterns or solar powered lights. You'll have access to a home built composting toilet, but no shower.
We are close to the main road, but it's a rural area with only a few scattered houses in our area. Our road is a rocky, rutted up dirt road, but it's passable if you have a little clearance. You'll have to park about 100 +/- feet from your campsite and carry your gear in, but it's not difficult.
Our property is quiet, and relaxing. It's a great place for short layover in a longer trip, or a good location for weekend stay. If you're a photo buff, you'll have plenty of beautiful views. There is hiking directly off the property, and more all around the area. Bring your horses or mountain bikes and ride out from your campsite on dirt roads and unimproved trails. You can reach Carson National Forest via a spiderweb of tiny trails, or take a quick 20 minute drive in any direction for access to numerous local trailheads.
