The 32 acre property with river frontage is a Community Land Trust farm in its very early phase of development. This 300 sq ft studio sits on top of two shipping containers. It is super comfortable for two adults. It has a kitchen, fridge, propane ceramic heater, hot water, shower and toilet. Perched 8 feet above the ground, it has sweeping views of the Pecos watershed.
The property is located along the Pecos River, at 5,200 feet of elevation. It is a typical narrow strip of irrigated land stretching (property is over a mile long!) from the irrigation ditch to the river. Located on a Spanish Land Grant dating back to 1822, the area is very quiet and sparsely populated with mostly Hispanic ranchers and farmers. There are still many old stone houses and barns in the area. The watershed is rich with bird life (Bald Eagles, Hawks, Cranes, Geese, Ducks, Herons, Owls) and coyote are everywhere. The riverfront is pristine with water holes and sandy beaches. A treat for someone appreciating a primordial setting with no noise or light pollution (great for star gazers!). Bring your hiking boots, binoculars and feel free to participate in any of the activities going on at the farm.
